dangermousie: (Capital Scandal sit by miss_dian)

By ep 3, I have much pretty much decided that resisting the adorableness is impossible. I love this fluffy, silly, darling drama. (But then I am seemingly the only person who loathed the sainted 2007 jdrama so my tastes must be perverse :P)

I mean, I get things like this:

There is also this which made me LOL and LOL. You aren't into going for subtle, are you, drama?

And adorable jealousy!

So, what's everyone take - does Tae Joon know our heroine is a girl in drag or not? He is straight and yet seems awfully unconfused about his sexual orientation vis-a-vis Sulli, unlike Nakatsu, but then we weren't shown him figuring it out...Hmmmm.

I HATED THE JDRAMA TOO. *high five*
And I found the scene where Tae Joon raises his arms and imitates his famous ad so sad, poor kid ;___; It's not fair for him to have so much pressure!

Methinks he does know - the sweater-giving confirmed it for me, and (spoiler?) at least in the manga he knew by now.

The guy should be getting therapy in addition to physical rehab, but since it's a kdrama, no way as nobody in a kdrama ever goes to a therapist even if they are prone to hearing voices and setting themselves on fire.

I do NOT get the fandom love for the jdrama aside from the 'you like skinny pretty boys, we got them by the bushel' aspect. That drama was just so shrill and all about the boys, as opposed to about Mizuki, Oguri Shun was replaced by a robot, Maki was miscast and had no chemistry with him, and oh God, I must have lost IQ points due to how stupid and full of mugging it was. I mean, no adaptation of HK is going to be a braintrust by definition, but there is fluffy and cute and there is so idiotic it hurts my mind.

I could rant about it all day - it is so heavenly to find someone who agrees about the jdrama being a pit.

ETA: I know that he knew in the manga - no idea if kdrama is going to go the same way. I am leaning towards his knowing though.

No but see there has been a couple of dramas where someone went to a therapist but like in me too flower the therapist was TERRIBLE. and way unprofessional. but the Secret Garden therapist was pretty cool. altho she disappeared mid way thru the drama hahaha.

The Flower therapist should have lost his license years ago.

I totally forgot SG therapist - don't remember her doing much except for doling out pills, also what kind of therapist is OK with taking on a patient who is an ex?

The jdrama was just so ridiculously cracky and skimped out on any plot! It was irritating as hell and the only thing going for it was the insanity of the side characters, which should not be what happens in a show. >:C (although the scene where the entire school admits to being Sano's kissing victims was pretty funny)

i thought the jdrama sucked too, even though i'm a pretty big fan of wacky so i sortof enjoyed the crazy dorm antics. the leads were the pits though, in acting and in character, and i usually love shun and maki. oddly enough, i absolutely loved the special?

I really enjoyed the jdrama except the parts with the main guy and girl because they could just not act in that drama. The main girl in this however has tons of energy and is really doing well with the role. And wow this drama is too pretty. The colors and backdrop is great.

Yeah, the cinematography on this one is super pretty - I am pleasantly surprised by the production values.

YESYESYES. I adored the rain scene despite the obvious cheese of it all; the way it was filmed/edited was v. v. gorgeous and far beyond anything I thought KKS was capable of. Anyway the whole thing is so very very cute and watchable. I can't wait until tomorrow when Taejun'll hopefully come to the rescue and deal with the creepy part-time worker.

About Taejun, I think he's too preoccupied/disturbed with the concept of actually caring about Jaehee to even bother contemplating the nature of those feelings like Eungyul is. Then again, maybe he does know and is pretending not to.

Great point about TJ's preoccupation.

And yes, I totally recognized the creepy part-timer arc. EE!

The only thing that bothers me about TTBY is how stalkerish Jae Hee seems. She came all the way to Korea for some sports star she's seen on tv that she has a crush on.

The scenes where she's watching him sleep and repeating his words back to him after the marathon straight up creeped me out.

Well, I think they try to make a distinction that she isn't in love with him, she just wants to inspire him back - at least when she starts that little project. But I agree, it's super-creeptastic so I just try to ignore it.

One of the strong suits of the Jdrama was that she felt responsible for Sano's injury so it didn't bother me as much as it does here.

I think they are probably going to go for something similar here. She did say she has a debt to him.

Yay! You've fallen for this one too! It's just puts a smile on my face. It's adorable and earnest! There are moments when sometimes, it crosses from earnest to taking-it-self-too-serious but overall, it tickles the little girl inside of me.

I refuse to look at anything because i havent seen it yet but i will v v soon *__* it makes me happy u like it, even tho are tastes differ alot, i just got tired of hearing everyone gush about the jdrama (when I HAAATED it) and talk about how subpar the kdrama is in comparison or in general. NO YOU ARE ALL WRONG. WROOONG. WRONG ON THE INTERNET. lol. so this is nice hahaha.
tbh if they had him find out off screen I'll be kind of pissed. I liked the idea they were holding back and having him build a bit of a bond with Sulli's character before he found out she was a girl and he thus felt compelled to take care of her out of some sense of chivalry, I dont remember at all when Sano found out in the manga or where their relationship was but i remember it was really early on. I figured Sano would find out in the first 2 eps but then I was pleasantly surprised when he didnt. but if he doesnt find out in tomorrow's ep I'll really wonder wtf they are trying to pull here lol. Like are they just gonna leave hints that he knows? I mean its an interesting twist tbf but like I hope we do get to see what his reaction was at some point upon finding out even if its in a flashback or something. and for us the audience to be told explicitly that he knows and way before the finale. like to me part of the fun of hana kimi is the dramatic irony of Sano knowing that Mizuki is a girl and covering for her and her having no earthly idea and conducting herself as if he doesnt know (and then u have the plain ole regular irony of nakatsu freaking out over his sexuality re mizuki when she is ofc a girl XD) . Which will be lost if the drama goes on a while without revealing Sano's thoughts. but anyway, we shall see. I'm not jumping to any conclusions yet.

LOL I totally get you about 'wrooooooong' thing because every time someone criticizes my new obsession Faith, I get all irratitional and want to internet-debate crush them :P I don't, having some remnants of my sanity left.

Hahahaha. Yeah I am not super sold on Faith myself but like I decided not to talk about that in your journal cause I dont want to shit all over your parade like how annoying would that be? lol. I think its time for me to write another dramas post since I'm following so many dramas again.

I was laughting at that scene since I saw it in the teaser. That is so Drama. Every human I know would have shoutet alarm or/and catched the girls arm and pulled her back :D. But that scene is so adorable corny *_*.

Well I don't like how they added a triangle (not Nakatsu, Sano, Mizuki) but a girl.(Hibari I presume)
And Umeda sensei (the doctor) is gay, the mangaka herself admitted that yes the character is gay but the Korean version has him as a straight guy with love baggage.
I loved the Japanese version because of Ikuta Toma, he was a blast and it's clear that he was enjoying himself a lot.
Maki has portrayed male characters twice before (actual boys and has been convincing) but obviously the direction in hanakimi was not to be so convincing.

YES I FINALLY SAW EP 3 AND IT WAS GLOOORIOUS. Eun Gyul/Hyun Woo is sooooo cute and precious. I jjust feel so bad for him. All that sexual confusion lol. I'm glad he gets a love interest, altho she is terribly violent XD poor guy gets beat up every time he sees her! I was really skeptical about Ha Na at first. her scenes with Tae Joon make me eye roll but her scenes with Eun Gyul are truly hilarious.
and I am SO glad they are doing the beach story! It was one of my faves since Sano saves Mizuki. and that was really the only time she was in any kind of direct danger, as opposed to just getting caught as a girl. So it was really dramatic. But wow it was ten times scarier in the drama. Like I watched the first 5-6 minutes of ep 4 which is where the shit goes down re Mizuki and the Creepy part timer guy and I was like terrified even tho I KNOW she is gonna be saved by Sano in the end. It was just YIKES. Also Sano/Tae Joon worrying about her was so ;_; Minho my darling you actually managed to portray an emotion on your face. I'm so proud ;_; now if only you could do that consistently....
I didnt want to spoil myself so I didnt watch more of ep 4 since its still Raw. But I HAD to get the pay off on that set up. I want to say more about it but i dont want to like spoil anyone. D: I think he DOES know she's a girl tho. Like if she was a guy why give her the sweater to cover her up? and why be so suspicious about the way the part timer was touching her? If she was a guy there's nothing really that off about how he was touching her. But if she was a girl esp in korean society he was being wildly inappropriate with an underaged girl (that he is not related to). that said even if Tae Joon KNEW she was a girl, what made him think that the part timer knew? who knows I guess. He just has that hero sense that knows when the heroine is in trouble lol. I hope we get a flashback at one point to show when Tae Joon found out. or that would a waste imo. also that thing i said about dramatic irony...
