My feelings every time Shunji appears on my screen:



I am only 20 minutes into ep 15 because I need to pause every two minutes to hyperventilate and dissipate the unbearable intensity. So I am off to bed as that (and cursing Shunji) led to it being super late here.

I will continue this delicious viewing torture tomorrow...

He actually makes me sick. What with his wild eyes, herky-jerky movement, and his over the top facial expressions, I'm actually starting to feel revulsion when he's on screen. He's really really close to ffwd material for me. Unfortunately, he's the one of the few on the show that seems to have a brain these days so I'm forced to watch his scenes.

I'm looking forward to seeing how/if KT gets out of this one.

What makes me hate Shunji more than his cold cruelty is his sense of entitlement. It's like these people owe him because he's been nice to them before, so they should do nothing/take his side now that he's actively trying to destroy their hero. Psycho Shunji freaks me out, but arrogant, entitled, self-centered Shunji makes me want to strangle the guy and set him on fire.

It's funny how everybody I know (who watches the drama) is starting to develop an almost visceral sort of hate for him. I didn't watch gaksital for various reasons and I was looking at gifs/picspams of ep 14/15 where I found Park Kiwoong rather attractive and everybody else's response has been "SCUUUM DIE YOU HIDEOUS DEMON FROM HELLL"

It almost makes me glad I didn't continue because if everybody else's reactions are an indicator, the hate I would feel for Shunji would probably affect the way I view PKW's future roles. which would be a shame because I adored him in Slingshot/SOAM.

Maybe it's just me but Shunji is such an over the top character that while I feel just revulsion at seeing him I don't feel any sort of animosity toward the actor who's playing him. As of now (this could change soon, heh) I could watch one of his dramas again -- maybe not anytime soon, lol, but I could.

I've liked him in SOAM and hated him in Chuno, where he played evil, so I'd have no problem watching him romancing someone as a noble hero in a different drama next week despite hating him here.

I think the show has written Kangto's transformation so much better than Shunji. We can see how Kangto goes from plainly wanting to revenge his brother & mother's deaths like that no holds bar deadly fury that he unleashed on Kenji, killing him in one instant to the hero that he is now, taking pride in defending the ordinary Joseon folk. Shunji seems to have gone completely psycho and a 180 degree change from that sweet boy he used to be. I mean they tried to show him in his angst and being fearful of the road he has to take, as depicted in that sleepover scene with Kangto but overall his change seem more like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde with him being totally Mr Hyde now.

I mean if this Shunji character is a psycho then Park Ki Woong nailed it. But if it is not, then I think he may have acted over the top. I am not very familar with his works but except for crying scenes(sorry it's difficult when you are compared to Joowon), I think PKW is a good actor so the blame must be put on the script.

I agree with LyraYoo - I think Shunji always had the seeds of psychosis in him that blossomed fully when he got an appropriate job. He always seemed off as a good guy.
