Eleven episodes in and it's time to face the truth - when I spend 10 minutes watching each ep at extreme fast-forward and it still feels too long, it's time to quit. Life's too short, with too many other fun things to do.

I can't really pinpoint one huge glaring weakness in writing or acting - both are OK. The problem is that this is a character piece where none of the characters, their interactions or their dilemmas, interest or emotionally involve me one bit. So I am left with nothing. I mean, I don't care if an asteroid wipes out every character from Big tomorrow. And that's a bad sign, especially since there is no plot I am dying to follow despite lack of character investment.

Bye-bye, drama!

I stopped watching "Big" probably around episode 6. I wanted to like it, but it completely failed to draw my interest.

I've kept up somewhat with Dramabeans' recaps in the hopes that it might get better... I guess...? Sometimes I find myself bored and try to keep watching, but give up after a couple of minutes.

Also, I really hate the heroine.

It's amazing how much I looooooooved "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho" and "My Girl"... while other Hong Sisters' dramas like "Best Love" and "Big" left me completely COLD.

I don't even hate the heroine, which would be an explanation of sorts - I just don't care. It's more exciting to watch informercials - I am that bored with it.

Yeah, I loved Delightful Girl Chunhyang, My Girl, Gumiho GF and Hong Gil Dong but sadly Big isn't joining the list.

I wonder if there's anyone who really loves it (maybe okoala?), it seems to strike most with feelings of ambivalence at most, including moi. I've watched every episode and will probably watch them all. I find them easy to digest, especially when I'm busy and want something light. And it has provided me with a few laughs.

But I can't help but agree with what you said, dangermousie, and yeah it is hard to really pinpoint why it doesn't really grab one. Maybe it's a matter of a bunch of little things, then one or two glaring faults, because like you say, nobody out and out sucks here, the directing's fine, I like the music, not the main girl so much, but she's adequate, and Gong Yoo seems to be doing better as Kang Kyung Joon.

Maybe the Hong sisters are trying to change their style around, because there are mostly comic scenes that seem to come out of nowhere, like the recent eps venture into the past (rather random), and so on. And the troubling nature of the OTP, one way or another, also had created problems. I also wonder if the body switch plot tied the Hong sisters hands more then they thought it would.

Koala and some of her commenters love it, as well as some soompiers, but overall, this is the least fan-loved HS drama I've ever seen. If you read comments to ep 11 recap on DB, it's 90% negative.

It doesn't actively annoy me the way Best Love did, nor does my inner feminist raise her sleeping head, the way it did with YAB, I just...don't care.

I really think the body swap tied them up. It's a cool gimmick but the drama doesn't really have much to say beyond it - I always love their dramas best when they have something interesting (emotionally or otherwise) to say.

I'm a big fan of the Hong Sisters, but for some reason I'm not the slightest interested in "Big."

I am hit or miss with Hong Sisters (when I love them, I really love them, but sometimes they rub me the wrong way) but love them or hate them, I usually have strong feelings about their dramas. Big is the first drama since Fantasy Couple where I am just 'meh.'

I completely forgot Fantasy Couple was a Hong Sisters drama! Yeah, I'm like you. When I'm emotionally invested in a Hong Sisters drama, I go all out. ADORED My Girl, You're Beautiful and Greatest Love.

My HS obsession dramas were Delightful Girl, My Girl, Hong Gil Dong and Gumiho GF...when they are good, they are really good!

Bummer. The last time you sounded like it was getting better so I was considering giving it a chance but this is making me hesitate again.

I don't get it. This is a drama that I should probably want to watch desperately. I love Gong Yoo. I've watched any number of body swap Kdramas and haven't disliked one yet that I can think of but this show leaves me cold and I haven't even watched one episode. I don't understand.

How many episodes are left? Maybe they're saving the best for last.

4 left.

Others love it, so don't go by what I say.

Four episodes to go doesn't sound promising. I'll probably check it out eventually but I'm in no hurry.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I don't feel excited about anything that is going on in that drama. Family secret? Meh. Gil Da Ran falling for Kyung Joon finally? Meh. The doctor was a cheater? Meh, who cares.

I think the main problem for me is that the characters are not fascinating enough. They have cute interactions but they are not amazing on their own. And I don't feel attracted to Gong Yoo in this, which is shallow of me but it's the truth...If the heroine is not interesting, and I have no reaction to the hero, then I won't be excited by their romance in the slightest.

Yes, if I loved them, I'd care about the mos boring plot but as it is, I am just bored.

I think this whole body swap concept is so limited in a drama as far as adding tension that it just sort of falls flat. Over all I liked the idea, loved the actors, and thought it was cute. But I've felt like it's been a bit directionless. Like it takes forever to get to that next point in the plot so it feel like in every episode nothing happens.
Because to me it's like saying okay we swapped, gave her enough time to get confused spent enough time confusing the audience over YJ's backstory and all and then watched her fall in love with the boy and then...whatever else they come up with. Thing is, HS like to do their stories fast paced and full of cute. This drama, while cute, is far from fast paced. It's not even slow paced. It feel like a snail trying to make it to finish line.
I think the only reason I watched this drama was because I love Gong Yoo and this drama gives me plenty of him to enjoy. It's shallow but that's about all I can invest in. I love Lee Min Jung personally but I haven't loved her character so much in this show.

Yeah - I don't know where they went wrong but your hypothesis is a good one. I just wish I was invested in this for any reason but as it is - nada.

I dont quite like the chemistry between the actors . The only pairing I like is DaRan and Kyung Joon in his own self. And I suspect Hong Sisters have no idea where they wanna go with this story. Sigh...I want to say goodbye to this drama too but I cant bring myself not to watch Gong Yoo.

Haha, you are brave. I stopped after EP6. I normally like Hong Sisters Drama and the actors are really good but it is boring. The idea of body switch is good but the message they wanted to give us, I do not care for it. I liked the first two episodes since all characters had so good chemistry with each other. But since the accident there was no surprise anymore. The antagonists were left somewhere. I still will read Koala's recaps but just because I want to know if he gets switched back.

I can't blame you for dropping Big. To be frank, I'm beyond ready for the drama to wrap up. It obviously doesn't have enough substance to support 16 episodes. As much as I love the OTP, I want to see some actual plot development.
