I confess that when news of INR2012 came out, I had zero interest. Its thematic predecessor, INR2011, pretty much took everything I dislike in dramas and stuck it in one package. Chances of my considering INR2012 would have been nil, however the flisties raved, except for the fact that the makers cast Lee Jin Wook and Jung Yu Mi as the leads. I am a ridiculous fangirl for LJW, who not only does something funny to my hormones, but who also was the lead in one of my all-time favorite dramas, the ridiculously underrated Someday (or as I like to call it, the closest Korea came to 'Mars'). And I've had a huge soft spot for Jung Yu Mi since Que Sera Sera. With that and the flistie raves, I decided to check it out despite my misgivings.

What can I say? I just finished the first episode and the love cannot be contained! It's funny, sexy (hello there, cable!) and fresh. The story involves two former lovers who ended their long-term, on-again-off-again relationship 3 years ago but have remained best friends. CAN YOU SAY MY CATNIP? My big problem with INR2011 was that it revolved around a couple whose spark has gone out and where the boyfriend was a serial cheater - ummm, I am not rooting for that. Here I like both LJW's and JYM's characters - both are quirky and have faults, but are also cool and with ridiculous chemistry - I am simply salivating for them to get their act together and get back together. tVN has done it again!
Is it hot here, or is it just me?

The first kiss flashback was adorable...

My only regret is that I got 450-with raws for this ep because while this isn't using a Red One camera or wallowing in a huge budget, it is pretty and I love it enough to want HD raws. Next time!

Date: 2012-07-08 03:07 am (UTC)I got bored while watching ep 1, interested by ep 2, fell in love by ep 4 and crying by ep 6 ( the scene where Hana and her grandma was talking and the camera focused on Hana caressing her grandmother's hand..)
Same with kilerkki, I am loathing the second male lead. I lump him with Dr. No Borders as some folks over Dramabeans call the second male lead in I Do Do. They just don't know when to stop. To think that he's a psychiatrist (or is he not?) and 8 years older. And the way he is styled is not helping..
As for the second female lead, I adore her character. At least she shows remorse and owns up to when she does something selfish while sugar coating it as part of work...
Off to ep 11..

Date: 2012-07-08 12:38 pm (UTC)Secondary lead is creepy and also pathetic - he gloms onto Hana as some sort of demented fanboy, without understanding anything about her.

Sorry if I vented a little... Don't have anyone to talk to about this drama.. :)
I started downloading Alone in Love and much to my surprise, LJW is also there.. If I am not mistaken, even the actress playing Hye Young also appeared as Son YeJin's childhood friend..

Date: 2012-07-04 03:43 am (UTC)I need to finish Hero too (got distracted with something else at ep 5... I think) although there's still no subs beyond ep 2 but I can always revert back to DB re-caps afterwards to fill in with the bits I'll inevitably miss. :)

Date: 2012-07-03 02:45 pm (UTC)I will read your write up and keep in mind. Cuz I am not sure if I can deal with another heavy stuff after watching Gaksital. Gaksital is one movie which keeps me thinking days after the episode.

Date: 2012-07-03 04:45 pm (UTC)I actually wished that the leads of INR don't end up together, i was hoping for the girl to end up with second male which is the sweet chaebol guy. I just can't forgive a cheater.
These screencaps have lured me, I'm gonna catch up when it's almost ending. I marathoned INR when it ended so I'm gonna watch this too when it ends.
Cable dramas lately have been fantastic, Special Investigation TEN, INR, Shut up flower boy band.. ahhh... I love my drama land.
