Big - I think I am suddenly in love

I have a confession to make - I was this close to ditching Big. There was nothing that particularly bothered me about it, but after ep 1, which I liked a lot, I stayed completely uninvolved - I didn't care what happened to Kyung Joon or Daran, I didn't see the chemistry, I had little interest where the story was going to go etc etc. It was like watching a nicely-done work that didn't resonate at all. I checked out this week's eps without much interest, thinking they were going to be my final good-bye to this show.

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG LIES LIES LIES LIES!

I am in love with this week's episodes. I giggled, I sighed, I clapped, I swooned. It's like a switch flipped and I care - I somehow fell for Kyung Joon and Daran, separately and together - I see the chemistry now, I am madly curious what will happen and I am invested. My heart turns over every time Kyung Joon looks at Daran with those eyes. I swooned when he kissed her. I screamed when he walked out with her from the wedding. I cheered when Daran kicked out the horrid ex. All of a sudden, this drama got me by the heart (and made me a ridiculously rabid shipper for DR/KJ). It helps that this week's eps were the first ones I felt Gong Yoo was Kyung Joon we met in ep 1 or logical progression of and not some weird distortion and Daran was real. I AM SO IN LOVE NOW, YOU GUYS!!!! Some dramas take a bit to get going and Big seems to have been one of them because all I want now is the next episode. NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!!!

haha....Me too ! I hate to admit I got a little bored in the earlier episodes. I've been whining about Gong Yoo not returning to drama, I didnt want to dislike BIG. Maybe I just got confused and had had no idea who to ship. But I think now I get it. ^^'' ...

And...Gong Yoo gives the best kissing scenes. He kisses great.

Yeah, I was OK with the first 4 eps but it just wasn't grabbing me. And then, all of a sudden - click!

I wasn't going to drop it but like you, I couldn't see the connection between ep1 Kyung Joon and body-switched Kyung Joon. I said this in my blog- episode six Kyung Joon is finally someone I can be on board with. I feel him and his emotions. I'm scared to be invested in the DR/KJ ship though. I think there is a 50% chance my heart will be broken.

Just when things get really interesting, no preview for next week. Oh how they tease us.

Except for HGD which, as a sageuk, had rules of its own (and while it is my fave Hong Sisters' drama, they have never done anything near like it before or since), I have yet to see a Hong Sisters' drama that has an unhappy ending, so I think the OTP is safe.

This week's episodes is what got me hooked too!

That kiss! *fans self* whew it was hot. WHich is funny because two seconds later he's getting smacked and chased around.

But his comeback was just as hot. It's like it sparked light back into this drama because I think everyone was losing interest in this drama until this turnaround.
Now I freaking can't wait til next week :)


Also side note, I'm adoring AGD so much. I want to comment on all your caps but I have so little time. Somehow I'm making room for these two dramas regardless of how much sleep I lose!

Yeah, Big was slow to get going, though looking back, i find a lot of their dramas start slow (I adore My Girl but I never did get obsessed until they finally left jeju).

My flailing is not as drastic and sudden. By end of ep2, it cancelled all the quibbles I had with 1. But I just don't have the intense urge to continue live watch.
I've already dl'd 3, 4 last wk. Thought I'll just skim and get it over with and now I'm sooo far gone in love. I'm not even at 5/ THE scene.

I think what's working for me is this feels nonHongsis. Plus it's brilliant to have a real boy inside the GY facade and be a true childish hero we're so used to, yet he's actually an older and wiser manchild than most of the gorgeous Guy1 we've met twice his age.

And I lol'd totally unexpectedly and hysterically, when I was sure I knew Hongsis' bag of funny tricks too well and I can que the lol a mile away. I'm so pleasantly surprised beyond words.

I loved most of early Hong Sis stuff but their recent stuff has been driving me nuts. So imagine my surprise that I have fallen for this. I watch dramas for shocks like this :)

I wouldn't really be invested in the Daran/Kyung Joon couple, since the drama might end up with a open ending with KJ going back to his own body. Also, not to mention that this drama is loosely based off the Tom Hanks' movie... Big. We all now how that movie ended.
