A few first official stills from Timeslip Dr. Jin have been released and my interest shot up 800%.

Gaaaaah, Jaejoong looks gorgeous but it's the SSH/PMY still that got me insane! They look amazing (not to mention I always wanted SSH in a period drama). This cannot start soon enough. (I am sure it will get killed I the ratings by Gentleman's Dignity but I have zero interest in that one).

Some how SSH in period clothes looks so much hotter. Also much younger too.

YES, HOW GORGEOUS DOES THIS LOOK? I don't know why I was even worried about how Jaejoong would look in period garb in the first place; clearly my fears were unfounded. The only way this could get better is if they announced that the original reports were wrong, and that the SSH/PMY won't be kind of fauxcest, LOL. I mean really, how can he possibly fall for a girl who looks exactly like his sister IRL?

They changed the storyline, and now she's his modern gf... LOL OTL, one part I don't like.

I'm not sure I like the part where she either dies or goes into a coma in an accident, LOL. It just seems so... contrived.

Warning, this post has some spoilers...

Ugh, I'm only watching this for the history part, LBS and JJ, and LSY. I'll keep a blind eyes to everything else. Hopefully, the interesting history part will save the drama, because if they change the cannon storyline too much away from JPN version then I'll be so pissed and will skip all of SSH and PMY scenes. Hopefully, they somewhat stick to the JPN version and she was in a coma because of the surgery and not an accident. And hopefully that dying scene was of the Joseon character. Cause let's not forget, unless you haven't watch Jin, that Saki had a scene like that....

And if it's staying true to everything, Jin has to go back to modern time, and that he was trying to match made her in Joseon era. That was so funny and amusing to me in Jin, and that's why I like it, cause he's staying true to his purpose. Most, time-traveling story, dramas has the character staying there, which pissed me off. I like Jin and BBJX because they return.

No, I haven't actually watched the Japanese version, but I'm beginning to be glad I haven't, haha. It saves me from all the headache of inevitable comparisons and hoping that they wouldn't change things. Judging from other Korean adaptations of Japanese manga/dramas, like City Hunter, BOF and so on, this is probably going to end up being virtually nothing like the original JIN... perhaps aside from the "doctor time travelling into the past" plot. Expecting this to be like the Japanese JIN will probably just end in massive disappointment.

Ah, well, actually, at first when I heard about JJ in Dr. Jin, reading the plot, I wasn't too keen on it, I don't like medical drama. But after watching the JPN version, I'm happy. So I have faith in the history plot of this drama. And that MBC is making this a special drama for the weekend. As well as this is a Sageuk. I noticed, other than Moon/Sun, most Sageuk are good in plot, they're mot clean cut and clear in what they want compared to modern dramas. But *knocks on woods* don't want to jinx this drama, I need sageuk drama in life OTL.

I won't expect it to be like Jin, I'll treat this as loosely based on Jin ~~~

Haha, I love how you mentioned "other than MoonSun," because that is so true; there was no plot in that one.

I do wish MBC kept it on the weekdays, though (it was originally supposed to be a Mon/Tues drama after Lights & Shadows), because now it has to compete with Jang Dong Gun's A Gentleman's Dignity. AGD is bound to have good ratings, with Kim Eun Sook writing and JDG in lead role. I'd rather this be a good drama that has low ratings than a terrible mess with great ratings like MoonSun though, and I must admit the sets, costumes and everything look great. :P

Yeah, funny thing is? I actually enjoyed Moon/Sun while watching it. Though I know it's so stupid. But the child actors pulled me in. And then that bit of streak with Kim Soo Hyun being a lovelorn boy, but then Han Ga In shows up.... a wood/stone, acting with Kim Soo Hyun. Then it just goes nowhere. Though Kim Soo Hyun is a good young actor, giving him a Daesang was far reaching. Especially after I watch Song Joong Ki in Tree with Deep Roots. Might as well give it to Joong Ki if you don't give it to Han Suk Kyu or the other veteran actor who deserve it much more. Don't get me wrong, if there are KSH fans reading, I like him, he has potential, but compared him to Joong Ki in TwDR ( I chose JK cause they're same age rank and rising actors ). He was overacting, whenever he's with Han Ga In.... I guess it's cause she was star struck by young beauty that her soul flew away whenever he shows up that he has to reach out in order to pull her soul back. But she's too quick for him, thus, ended up of him looking like reaching out his emotion to a stone.

But people truly love Makjang, remembered Baker King? BOF? OTL, nation's dramas.

Ah, I'm like you, I don't wish for this to get high ratings, or become nation's dramas LOL. I rather it has average rating but good. I think MBC is really making this a special project, that's why they had it on the weekend? They probably put more budget into this. MBC always put in more money into their Sageuk. And, it seemed like Dr. Jin always gets the bad rep because of this one drama from their writers that always gets highlighted. While the better dramas/movies that the writers co-wrote were never publicized.

Han Ji-Hoon, I noticed specialize in war/thriller type of stories. He co-wrote Once Upon a Time in Seoul, Taegukgi, A time between Dog and Wolf, Running Wild, and that one Road No.1. As for the other co-writer, he specialize in long serial sitcoms. Odd combination.

I am more worried for the director of Dr. Jin than the writer lol. Han Heui, I hope he is a better director than a producer. Though he hasn't directed a drama for years. But the drama that he produced...Playful Kiss is one of them.

I liked the cast for MoonSun, but the first episode was so painfully overwrought that I could predict the plot direction for the remaining episodes, so I haven't gone back to it. I might try it again one day, when I have more time, but there are far too many interesting dramas this year to burn 20 hours on MoonSun. :P Oh holy crap, YES re: that Daesang fiasco! I literally thought to myself that there was almost no chance Kim Soo Hyun could logically win over either Han Suk Kyu or Shin Ha Kyun when I looked at the Baeksang nominations. I was personally rooting for Shin Ha Kyun after his tour de force performance in Brain, so I was pretty much RAGING when KSH bagged the Daesang. Talk about popularity & ratings winning over skill and experience. KSH's good, but he's years away from beating Han Suk Kyu or Shin Ha Kyun.

And haha, Han Ga In has always been wooden. I like her for some inexplicable reason, but she's always been terrible at emoting; I remember watching her in Witch Yoo Hee where Jae Hee basically ran circles around her acting-wise. She's in that long line of extremely pretty A-list actresses who can't act for beans.

Oh yes, I agree about the bashing about the writers. They have written some truly terrible stuff; I think Han Ji Hoon did Road No. 1? But he also did Time Between Dog & Wolf and a host of great movies, so... I can understand the worry over the other writer, though, who did the schizophrenic Spy Myung Wol. I'm actually less worried about Han Hee, who has at least enough experience not to butcher a drama through his directing. Playful Kiss was problematic due more to its bland script than the direction.

Eh, I skimmed through Moon/Sun, cause I have to finish a drama once I start and went through 5 episodes. Those kids are pretty darn good in pulling you in. But, why is it so high in rating? No other Sageuk during that time slot or something? But, I just like to bury it behind my mind at the moment. The Daesang thing was... even KSH himself says he's not worthy. Committee should take it back.

Yeah, Han Ga In, honestly, she does nothing for me in the beauty department. Because, though she looks pretty, she was so bland that she looks plain, and her voice, you can tell that she's a woman and not an early 20's girl OTL. I cringed in every scene she appears, do people just watch her standing their looking bland? Her new movie did so well as well.

Yeah, Han Ji Hoon did Road No.1, but I noticed most of the stuff he co-wrote are war/thriller related, so it says something about Dr. Jin. Spy Myung Wol had like 3 writers I think? The real culprit for that drama fails has to be the first writer that bailed out in the middle. Wiki didn't add the Jeon Hyeo-Jin ( other writer for Dr. Jin) but Hancinema added him into the staff of Spy Myung Wol. He co-wrote two long sitcoms. One spanned up to 300 eps and one up to 72 ep. Oh then good, cause Han Hee is the director, and not producer for Dr. Jin. I think, he should stick to directing instead of producing shows lol.

LOL, someone told me that Dr. Jin is gonna be produced by Lee Kim Productions, who produced Spy Myung Wol..., but they also produced What Happened in Bali, and Daemul.

Lee Kim Productions is notorious for having problems with every project they works on. Lawsuits after lawsuits. LOL, I guess that one with Faith was to kickstart Dr. Jin.

LOL Lee Kim Productions is definitely trouble. I shuddered a bit back when I first realized they were in charge; something always seems to go wrong, whether it's the way they manage their staff, the way they organize the production, etc. It's like they can't resist having a few warm-up lawsuits.

Yeah, there were no other sageuk dramas airing in the same slot as MoonSun. It was also crazily promoted, and lovely to look at. On top of that, it's based on another novel by the author of the book that Sungkyunkwan Scandal was based on, and that was a real runaway hit despite the lackluster ratings. I often find that the little kids in sageuk dramas turn out to be even better than the adults, though; it's like Merchant Kim Man Deok, where little Shim Eun Kyung was amazing as the young Man Deok, but I lost interest the minute Lee Mi Yeon took over.
