Just started Babylon 5

On the first ep and I looooooove!

I bought the complete series as a present for Mr. Mousie who loves it. Haven't seen it myself before now but it's turning into a gift that is just as good for the giver - because so good!

Also, am I insane or are there Ivanova/Talia vibes?

Ivanova/Talia was apparently meant to be canon but it was nixed by the network or something (Because, oh noes, lesbians/bi major female characters with actual relationships! Or some such.) So instead the vibes just become...vibier and they start implying an offscreen relationship.

I wish I could watch Babylon 5 once again for the first time. :)
It is on a level of awesomeness only surpassed by Farscape.
Though I've only watched until season 4 plus the last episode of season 5. A friend f mine who has an almost identical taste in tv hates season 5 and said it made her dislike a lot of characters.

And Ivanova is one of the most amazing characters ever being written for tv,

The first season is pretty shaky, but it has moments. The second through fourth seasons are some pretty good storytelling and atmosphere. But the character stories are my favorite part.

You are not insane. It was planned for almost a whole season before it came to any fruition.

Sadly, the actor playing Talia decided to leave the show before the storyline really got going.
