The replacement for tvN's late, lamented Shut Up Flower Boy Band is the lighthearted romcom The Marriage Plot. In a set-up more suited to a weekend family drama (not that this is a bad thing), the mother of four single daughters schemes to get them husbands via cohabitation (no, I have no idea how she convinces the individuals in question).

I am mainly tuning in for Lee Kyu Han, who I have been fangirling for years, finally landing a leading-man role (I think he's ridiculously underrated - he's got great chops and is super-hot. I honestly have no idea why he's not a bigger star). Plus, another of the four bachelors is played by the brilliant Lee Min Woo, who won my heart in The Princess' Man. I am not familiar with the three actress who play three secondary sisters, and am only barely familiar with the leading lady, Kang Hye Jung. I thought she was miscast in Miss Ripley, but that was a flawed (if interesting) drama, so I am willing to give her another chance. Plus, I believe in real life she's married to Tablo, so mad props to her for keeping her sanity with that whole lunatic diploma thing going on.

Have the official MV, sung by Kim Hyun Joong:

So cute! I am in!

I do know that at least 2 of the bachelors are living in Mom's boarding house, but not sure about the other two. I ADORE Lee Kyu Han though and wouldn't mind a quirky romance, so I was all set to watch this the minute I heard about it. :P Plus the trailers are just crazy. I really liked Lee Young Eun in most of the roles I've seen her in (particularly Once Upon a Time in Saengchori), so hopefully she'll make the oldest sister more interesting than she sounds as the quiet "mother figure" of the lot.

The boarding house thing makes more sense but not entirely - does she shove her daughters into their bedrooms as condition of the rent? There's a word for such establishments, but it's not usually 'boarding house' :P

I think it's a crime LKH has never had a leading role before this, and Yunho and Kim Hyun Joong and Changmin and a bunch of other idols, who are excellent at idolling but suck at acting, all already have. Bizarre.

I honestly think this sounds like some sort of a female Ojakgyo Brothers and should be a KBS family drama of 50 eps :)

LOL one day the daughters come home and Mom goes, "Sorry, dear, I've rented your rooms out! You're just going to have to share. :D Pick one!"

Actually, LKH's been a lead before! He was paired with Kim Won Hee in Love Needs a Miracle, a little-known SBS drama from 2005. From what I remember he was sporting horrible flowery shirts and flare pants at one point, LOL. I have the drama somewhere with terrible Chinglish subs.

I'm glad they're not turning it into a 50 ep family drama, though. :P The problem with those family dramas is that they always get so long, draggy and makjang. I'm definitely in the mood for something fast-paced, quirky and cute right now.

Miracle sounds awful - I think I've reached my LKH love limit - I am not trying it :)

50 might be too much (the only 50 ep drama that didn't drag for me was Gloria) but 16 is a bit too little for four separate stories. They should have split the baby and gone for 24 :)

Most likely they'll just reduce the two younger sisters' love lines to supporting ones that pop in every so often, kind of like Dream High. Not the best example to quote when trying to inspire confidence, but yeah. :P Either way, it doesn't bother me, since I'm not familiar with the two youngest actresses and I'm only really interested in Gun Hee (Kang Hye Jung)'s storyline with Lee Kyu Han anyway. I'm kind of hoping that we'll see LKH in a slightly more manly role, because he's been a beta male in every single role of his that I've seen, LOL.

the MV makes him seem like the usual chaebol type and I like that type for a reason :)

This looks so cute. So after years of playing either creepers or secondary guys he finally gets a lead role yay! I've always been a fan of his acting and I'm glad the drama is 16 episodes and not 100 something like I was expecting.

I like LKH too. It says something about his charm if I managed to like all his bastardly ex-bf roles. Might give this a try if there will be subs.
Coincidentally I was on an Austen spree this past weekend. Mr. Darcy has nothing on Mr. Knightley~

Heeee, not a big Austen fan. More of a Bronte gal myself.

I was sort of looking at this with a weary eye as I really don't have time for one more drama in my roster. Why do they all have to start now?! Wae?

I'll probably end up giving it a go anyway. Sigh.

I want to check this out. So far I've liked everything TVN put out. I mean I havent seen 12 men in a year but it looked pretty cute. that said this looks cute, lee kyu han wouldnt have been my first choice for this role (or even my last choice) like his face is kind of...but he might do awesome in this for all know its not a dealbreaker. i hope this is awesome i'm just worried it will have so many different love lines going that i'll only be able to see 10 minutes per episode of the couple i actually care about.

I didnt know Kang Hye Jung was Tablo's wife! Wow way to go honey.

Gah! How am I supposed to have the time to watch all the shows I'm following now ><
This though does seem hilariousm the heroine was in Flowers for my life that was amazing and underrated and LKH yes finally
a bigger role for him. (he was swoony in QSS)
I'm guessing the mom will do something sneaky, maybe lock them in in the same apartment/house or something else hilarious.

Have you seen Hero? The OCN series, it's amazing.

Hye Jung is absolutely underrated...wasn't Flowers of my Life awesome. How can a drama with Cha Concubine aka Cha Tae Hyun and Kang Hye Jung be so underrated? It does not compute.

Of course Hye Jung and Tablo are the best. I loved the stories he told about her on Strong Heart last week.

I caught the first two eps, and it's definitely worth watching. The whole boarding house idea is thoughtfully executed. Lee Min Woo, it seems, will get to play a very cool character. I loved Lee Kyu Han in Can You Heart My Heart and am glad to see him having a bigger role. I am rather impressed that the mother will be in both this drama and Equator Man. I don't know how those veterans play multiple roles simultaneously.

Most interestingly, the heroine is barely likeable. She's in fact very challenging to tolerate, yet there's something about her that makes you - or at least made me - want to hug her til she stops thrashing against the world.

I really like the mother character. There's something strange about her back story with Lee Kyu Han's father character.
