Are we supposed to like Yue-er? Because I lost any ability to do so when she started yelling "let go of me" to the man who was the sole thing preventing her from plunging to a gruesome and unexpected death, a man who was saving her even though she gruesomely poisoned him and he was in total agony and about to die because of it?

I mean, WTF!

Did I mention she was trying to off him for something he didn't even do, and when she learned of the fact, was there remorse, apology or even an "oops?"

Nope.

Lol she was pretty stupid but then again she was just a kid, who was manipulated.
I don't care about her much even when she's not moronic but the fandom seems to love her and Tianming. I'm all about Shaoyu (and hopefully) Shilan.

Yeah, I don't like either Yu-er or Tianming but I suppose these things have to have a POV kid character or two.

Shaoyu's OTP (or we hope) appears in S3. She's mysterious, doesn't ever talk... and SY seems to pay a lot of attention to her. There are subtle moments toward the end of the season when you can tell he's smitten. But the fandom also fear they might let her like Tianming instead (since he defended her from bullies once). Ugh~ she's way too cool for Tianming.

I disagree, firstly she was really upset and she believed he was the killer. As a kid that age, there's a lot of things you'd do when you're angry, plus she contributed ALOT in the second series and really helped everyone out, she's REALLY smart, it's just when it comes to someone she loves, not everyone can be logical about it because her emotions would have taken the better of her.
Also to her, it was VERY real that GN did kill her father cos of the spell she was under, so if anyone's to blame , it's Crimson snake for doing that to her. She's just an innocent girl caught in all this, if you dislike her for that, I think you're completely doing it for the wrong reasons. Esp if you see what she does in the future.

Haven't seen the second series so cannot comment on it - I am open to the possibility of her being awesome later, but I am only going on what I've seen so far.

I don't have a problem with the whole poisoning thing per se for the reasons you stated. I have a problem with her rather falling to her death than having GN pull her up (at that point, you should be OK with devil himself rescuing you) and, most importantly, not apologizing for what could have been a very lethal mistake. But MMV.
