Both Soo Ah and Ji Hyuk are reeling from that (incredible) kiss. Oh, darlings! I remember how giddy and scary that felt!

Hyun Soo is fast becoming my second favorite behind JH - his insecurity and worry :( He knows he let his bandmates down (though no fault of his own, but that doesn't help someone like him, with perfectionist tendencies and feeling that he has to prove himself to JH).

Can we ever have too much Ji Hyuk? I am developing a horribly age-inappropriate crush here.

Darlings and their cute embarrassment. Ah, they are so ridiculously young!

You know, much as I adore SA/JH, the core of this story to me, is the friendship between the guys (and it's one of the best things about this drama - it feels shockingly real).

This scene killed me. So gorgeously shot, so tender, so falling apart - he comes and matter-of-factly helps her and (naturally) assumes there is something between them now and she's terrified (which is understandable, committing to a relationship is a big deal, especially for someone like her, who doesn't play around) and backtracks and he's so hurt (but what kills me is how accepting he is of it, a sort of 'of course' reaction. No, JH, you are totally worth it and she does like you!) and just...I hate that these kids are hurting!

I loved loved loved this scene with HS and his little sis (like I said, he's quickly becoming a huge favorite). For one, their relationship is adorable, but this scene is also a great example how good this show is about explaining a lot with little - this little scene explains so much about HS and what drives him. You get the sense that he and JH grew up together and were best friends and he feels left behind by the friendship JH formed with BH, and when he says he learned guitar just so he could keep up and be the friend JH was proud of but it never came easily to him, the way it did to JH - ohhhh, it explains so much - the chip on his shoulder and his drive and his complicated relationship with JH (he will stand up for him in a nanosecond but also won't let him get away with the stuff the rest of them let him get away with).

Oh, JH, he's at his lowest point - he thinks Soo Ah didn't like him, they lost the contest and didn't fulfill Byung Hee's last wish etc (I find it significant he held it all together somewhat when he thought he has Soo Ah. Oh, poor darling). When he writes his resignation letter it really hurt because JH is the last thing from a quitter (also, I am confused about Korean education system - students can just quit school?)

These two are totally each other's OTP. I am not even kidding.

The dynamics of this scene were both funny and disturbing (thugs cowtowing to Do Il, lololol). Oh, and on a shallow note, I think I've been hypnotized or something. When this drama started, I didn't find Sung Joon attractive in the least, but it must be JH's sheer awesomeness because now I am finding him the hottest thing living.

When the guys fight with each other (this time all their frustration about Hyun Soo) it really feels wrong because they are each other's family. Also, I've come to the conclusion that Do Il is the glue that holds the band together - without his level-headed and quietly compassionate streak, they probably would have blown up a long time ago.

Ji Hyuk goes to call Hyun Soo, doesn't get through and all the frustrations have built to such a point that he trashes the practice room he so carefully put together.

And then on the way home he sees this. Can I take him out for a meal or something? Also, his eyes are so expressive - he so looks like a hurt puppy here! /fangirl moment.

But I love that JH is not high drama and snaps out of it and goes to see Hyun Soo. EEEE!

I ship it so hard. Pls pls drama gods! To be fair, I think Yerim ships this too :)

The gang shows up at Hyun Soo's and this scene made me so happy, it's ridiculous. Awwwww. Seriously.

I adore how Ji Hyuk tells puzzled Do Il something came up and for DI to take Woo Kyung home when he sees Soo Ah hellbent on being on the streets, looking for something. Awwwwww, black knight! I love that his taking care of her isn't dependent on her loving him or hopes of same. It's just who he is.

Soo Ah is frantically digging through the garbage in the convenience store because she thinks her iPod with Ji Hyuk singing is on there. And then who's there but Ji Hyuk (being, as ever, practical, by overturning the bin for easier looking).

He asks her if she's this upset because the song was Seung Hoon's song and she answers no, that's not it, it's "because it was your voice." I think I am officially dead now. Or maybe not, because I actually do die when he unzips his jacket, and wipes her garbage-filthy hands on his white shirt. Holy frell. Seriously. Is this thing done by my id? (And I love that she tells him not to. Ah, darlings!)

And he tells her they should go home, and he can just sing the song to her.

Go for the drummer, seriously! I am going to wear out my vocal chords screaming that at the screen!

He sings to her. How do they get more amazing, how?

They hear an agency wants to sign them due to that video of their performance where JH pulled HS into a hug due to all the blood becoming a big viral hit. I love seeing them happy.

Stop being a teasing biotch, drama! Seriously :)

And then it turns out the agency only wants Ji Hyuk and Hyun Soo (ahhh, the lure of boylove fanservice brings all the agencies to the yard). And Ji Hyuk politely but pointedly tears the contract as the most delicious fuck-you ever. (Honestly, what did the ladyboss think? The whole video that made them popular pretty much showed that JH puts his friends above all).

I need ep 8 now!!!!!!!!

Date: 2012-02-22 09:48 pm (UTC)Ji Hyuk/Sung Joon. His hair in this drama sort of took out the hot factor for me in the beginning but now he makes me swoon.
Still, I think I like him with shorter hair.

Date: 2012-02-22 11:47 pm (UTC)Haha I was joking on twitter about having such a ridiculous crush on him and he's like 21 so he's 2 years younger than me. and I was like I would have a crush on him even if I was 33. lol. He's damn fine. and his character is like made to explode the ovaries of all women. Those intense eyes *___* Hyun Soo's story made me feel bad for him, who can compete with Byung Hee? I can just imagine him saunteering into Ji Hyuk's life and dazzling him with his charisma, wild energy and guitar skills and Ji Hyuk as a result following him around and forgetting about Hyun Soo. Poor Hyun Soo. Oh man Kyung Jong's and Ha Jin's little lover's spat was hilarious and adorable. I totally was on Kyung Jong's side too, Ha Jin was being a dick! To Hyun Soo and to that girl. I was glad when they made up though, those two are a pair. (i love when even the show called it a "couple's fight" and ji hyuk actually got up to make the boys sit together) Just that entire scene at Hyun Soo's house made me wanna cry it was so damn sweet. I would give up limbs for friends like that.
And Yes exactly what makes Ji Hyuk's taking care of Su Ah so endearing is he really does it out of being a softie at heart and doesnt expect anything from her nor is he trying to manipulate her feelings.
OMG YEEEEEES when she said it was because it was his voice i was like EEEEEE and then he wiped her hands with his shirt and i was like flailing my arms so hard. Also when he was singing to her? holy fulfillment of a fantasy of mine batman. Just ugh just leave me to die! i cant handle all these emotions! (Oh man his face when he was tearing the contract and then dropped the strips on ladyboss's desk? SO HOT. I was like FUCK YES at the gesture but also at how attractive he looked doing it lol) omg this comment is so long. I AM SORRY. WHAT IS THIS DRAMA DOING TO ME.

Date: 2012-02-23 03:12 am (UTC)The chalkboard scene was so gorgeously filmed and it killed me, the almost imperceptible shift on JH;s face when he realized what SA meant (or thought he realized - she clearly just wanted a little time to think things over but I can see why he thought what he thought). Poor guy - you are way better as a bf than rich Seung Hoon or anyone else.
Yeah, he's either 21 or 22 and I should be ashamed crushing on him but there I am! Or at least not on the actor, but the character, because JH is pretty much perfect, but in a realistic way.
I liked how the drama told so much in so few words - the whole BH-JH-HS bromance triangle. You could totally see how Byung Hee was so larger than life and magnetic that HS (or anyone else, really) couldn't compete. He put everyone (JH included) in the shade without meaning to.
KJ and HJ are totally a couple! I mean, the lettuce feeding and the references to them as a couple? LOL, so canon. Ha Jin needs to chill out a little, though :)
The scene at HS' house was one of the few really giddy scenes and the only good family scene we've seen so far. HS' parents might be bullied in their profession and busy so HS has to take care of his sis and what not, but they are clearly good people. And I love how everyone made peace in such a guy, 'no words' way.
The scene in the convenience store slew me. His going to look after her well-being even though he thinks she 'dumped' him, wiping her hands on his shirt (and not like a big gesture, but completely matter-of-factly) and her saying it was his voice (I love that she doesn't emotionally hide) and his face and OMGOMGOMG if I shipped them any harder, I'd explode.
The thing with the contract - I am glad I am not the only one who thought it was sexy as fuck. Determination and principles are hot.

Date: 2012-02-23 02:05 pm (UTC)I know Ji Hyuk is supposed to be a bad boy but he's such a sweetheart and like you said really practical and generally level headed. Even though he does get emotional sometimes and do rash things. but he's a kid! if he didnt do that ever i'd worry!
LOL no shame girl. I'll probably be 40 and still crushing on the young pretty boys in the world. yay Noona love! lol
Yeah you really can see how Byung Hee just eclipsed everyone. He was the sun and everyone else was his earth. And Lee Min Ki did such a good job that you really got drawn to him too and he totally eclipsed the boys when he was around. I liked Ji Hyuk from the beginning but I didnt really get to love him until Byung Hee was out the picture.
My favorite part even more than him wiping her hands with his shirt WHICH I LOVED was her saying it was his voice. because i def think one of Ji Hyuk's (and sung joon's for that matter) most attractive features is his voice. i dont know how to describe but its like super sexy and soothing and gruff all at once lol. also i love hearing him sing. sung joon does pretty good for someone who is not a singer!
YEEES. I love that Ji Hyuk is a rebel with principles. He's no sell out! It was just such a delicious "fuck you" gesture. oh Ji Hyuk why cant you be real and my next door neighbor? lol

Date: 2012-02-24 12:54 am (UTC)Casting of LMK made sense because I totally bought nobody would look at anyone else when he was around.
And yes, JH's voice is...makes me melt.
Hmmm, I wonder if the principal is going to be nicer to them now that they are signed up by a major label. After all, it can't be bad for a school to have a popular band come from it :)
Also, wtf is with the drummer in Starwberry Fields? He never appears other than when playing. /random

Date: 2012-02-24 02:23 am (UTC)I don't watch raws for this because that way lies sheer frustrated insanity but yeah, I am beyond obsessed and check for subs to an OCD degree. And I certainly rewatch like a lunatic. In fact, I am thinking of rewatching all eight eps if time allows this weekend.
I can't believe this is only 16 eps. I don't want it to end! (But I don't want it to get draggy either). Dilemmas!
This is pretty much my perfect drama.
