I have a problem with Shut Up Flower Boy Band (does the title of this drama even make sense btw?).

What's the problem? Well, this is my favorite character:

As far as I can tell, he's everyone's favorite character. Byung Hee is just utterly and unapologetically bizarre. He's also ridiculously magnetic and I could have really enjoyed watching him woo straight-laced Su Ah (it would have been Marry Me Mary done right!) But, as everyone knows, Lee Min Ki is only cameoing and, as of the end of ep 2, he's gone for good.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Not fair!!!!!!

Evil!!!!!

Luckily, I really do like the rest of the bandmates but still - no fair! He had more charisma than the rest of the cast put together.

Hmmm, maybe I should check out Dal Ja's Spring.

Welllll, they needed someone charistmatic to make his exit the more poignant. I haven't watched this yet but I guessed it'd go that way. :) I'm pretty sure the other's will come onto their own now that LMK is gone. He tends to overshadow just about anybody.

You haven't seen Dal Ja's Spring yet? It's uneven and goes on for too long with the usual fabricated angst but I still liked it. LMK is ever so cute in it. ;P

I tried DJS years ago, but office lady romance isn't my thing. I'll give it another look for Minki though.

Finally managed to find time to watch the 2 epis and I do like it so far. Yes, LMK stole the show but he I was still more into Sung Joon's character. I like 'em better as more dependable and less kooky. ;P

The rest of the boys weren't really fleshed out so I guess we'll get to that in the aftermath of the leader's demise. They really have to pull together now. I'm looking forward to them kicking the rich bastards asses, both figuratively and litterally.

After seeing ep 3 raw, I adore Sung Joon's character so I am with you. I think I just love the fresh vibe of this.

Oh man another one. I totally feel you girl. If you check the lee min ki tag on tumblr (as well as the shut up flower boy band tag) it is full of people crying over byung hee. many of which had no clue it was just a cameo and didnt expect him to bite the dust by the end of ep 2. He was really ridiculously charismatic and fascinating and seeing him go broke my heart even though i knew he wasnt long for this world. the build up to his death is very sad too. although the actual way he dies made me roll my eyes. i was like really drama? this trope again? I actually also was surprised to find out that Lee Min Ki sings and plays guitar. he was actually playing it during the drama and sang the song at the beginning of the first episode, as song he made over crystal castles "i'm not in love" i love his rendition but i looked up the original song and fell in love with that too so i've listened to it a billion times already XD. But yeah I am so in love with lee min ki now i'm watching Dal Ja's spring. even though most of the drama i couldnt care less about, Dal Ja and Min Ki's scenes are really cute. That said while Lee min ki is charming in Dal Ja's spring, he's nothing like byung hee so its not nearly as interesting to watch him lol. Oh well.

Yeah, he pretty much made the drama for me (though I do love the atmosphere and the rest of the cast).

I actually...didn't like him? I mean, he was great, but the character wasn't working for me (not that I see any of myself or my friends in him, of course not).
I'm just an extremely obsessed and biased Sung Joon fangirl. >__< Which reminds me to have that White Christmas rewatch...

Sun Joon was the snarly BFF for BH, right? Because I adore his character and actually don't mind him being the lead which, seeing how much I loathed everything and everyone involved in Lie to Me, says a lot.

Yes, he is! He was my favorite character in White Christmas, which you know I'm more than a little obsessed with, so I'm obligated to watch this drama out of love for him. Not that it's a difficult task since it's not nearly as fluffy and annoying as I'd originally expected.

I didn't know he was a cameo!! I love LMK ( He reminded me of jack sparrow)I was watching the end of ep 2 and was like WHAT? Did the main character just die? Really?

I have seen Lee Min Ki in 2 dramas and 2 movies and while I liked him in all three, this was the first time that I ever fell in love with one of his characters...I have this thing for kooky characters and he was fantastic...and then they took him away...STUPID DRAMA!!!!!!....I'm still gonna watch though....even though I'm not taken by any of the other characters or actors (Sorry but I think Sung Joon is very green actor), I loving the vibe of the drama so I'm going to continue and give it a shot

I love the vibe and the acting is OK so I am still in for it, but argh!!! I want Byung Hee!!!

You should absolutely check out Dal Ja's Spring....he will sweep you off your feet...also there's this movie called Romantic Island..it's a bit cheezy but it's my second favorite LMK role

Or check out Love Truly (aka I Really Really Like You) - its a longer drama but I thought he was much more fleshed out as a character whereas in Daljas Spring I felt we never really got to know him, cute though he was.

Oh God, I hated RRLY - I suffered through 4 eps and his character was such a jerk and the heroine was such a bumpkin. Does it really get better?

It's been several years since I watched it but I believe it was around when she finally started working at the Blue House that I got hooked (9, I think). After that I inhaled the episodes. I got pretty frustrated with the heroine during the late teens but that just gave Lee Min Ki an excuse to angst and angst so it was all worth it. ;)

I love Lee Min Ki because he is, as you said, magnetic. He always sports a sort of carefree, oddball demeanor which brings energy to the atmosphere.

You should definitely check out Dal Ja's Spring. I think it my first real enjoyment of sort of a office setting, older woman-younger man drama that was romantic enough to make me squee.

Def check out Dalja. Never got used to Chae Rim's perm but it's a funnier more sophisticated sister of Baby Faced Beauty.

Byung Hee was fun but a bit OTT (just going by ep 1 which is all I've seen so far). Though I totally adored the moment when he's putting on his eyeliner!

I loved him!
Its really interesting that the drama focused on him so much and then got rid of him. His personality was the most defined and the rest of the boys haven't been fleshed out. It's really different than most dramas.
I wonder how the boys are going to get along without him? Even though he was out there and flakey; somehow, he brought everyone together.

Ep 3 really worked for me, so I am glad this is going well even without him. But I miss him!
