Weirdly, I think the whole: "I'll give you back the farm if you go on x number of dates with me" is meant to be charming. It's not.

It might be charming if she was asking him to buy a cup of coffee or something. But it's clear the farm is something she desperately wants and he's in a position of power. Plus, it's clear he's only doing it to piss off Tae Hee which is horrible not just vis-a-vis TH but JE too - what if JE ends up liking smarmy or it busts up the thing with TH or whatever?

That was sort of my initial reaction too but....

I don't think it's because he wants to piss of TH (not really) nor that he particularly wants to date JE either, though he genuinely finds her interesting. It's to get TH to pay attention to HIM. It's not about the farm nor about JE but something to do with TH, their mother and 'family stuff'. It is an ass-backwards way, I'll grant but TH just refuses to listen. You'll see... or not. That's my interpretention anyways.
