The Great Revival (2007) - Chen Daoming and Ady An

Hmmm, the upcoming Chu-Han Contention is leaving me with a massive craving for a serious cdrama period epic. I guess I should finish the 2003 take on the Chu-Han story (which I liked. Hu Jun, mmmmmmm) but I might get to be in Chu-Han overload.

So, is The Great Revival any good? I know Chen Daoming is very highly regarded.

And Ady An playing a legendary beauty is a bonus (though I believe she's a supporting character in this one).

Also, argh! This just reminds me that I want Chen Kun/Sonija Kwok's take on this story (Conquest) subbed - because so pretty.

I liked it. Chen DaoMing is AWESOME (so is Hu Jun) as always in The Great Revival, but there's very little romance and more serious politicking compared to Conquest (it's my very first CK experience and ChenKun was at his most insanely gorgeous self in it with the best C mane of glory/envy, more gorgeous than Sonija's great beauty SiXhi, the general opinion I shared wholeheartedly!!!）

Ady's SiXhi has a supporting role, gets the standard lady treatment of any C serious period, so as an Ady fan, u may be disappointed how little you see her.

I don't mind lack of romance (I'd love Conquest but there are no subs to be had). I actually do want something meaty, so first ep obtained.

Sadly, the direct download site that had this went kaput in the great megaupload disaster. There are DVDs with subs on YesAsia though.
