1. The first teaser for Moon that Embraces the Sun is out.

Whenever I see a trailer full of only sageuk kids, my first instinct is to run. At this point, it will take a miracle for me to watch this.

2. Out of possibly terminal stupidity, I decided to check out Goong S. Surely it can't be as bad as everyone says, thought I. I thought wrong. The horrifying leads cannot act and have no chemistry and the screenplay was written by a tree. This might possibly be the worst kdrama I've ever seen - it's not even campily bad, just a horrifying time-waste conduit.

3. I also checked out the cdrama Splendid Life, a cdrama remake of Brilliant Legacy. Jerry Yan is a long drink of cool water but this is pretty much word-for-word remake so I don't see the point of watching once I've seen the original.

4. Goong S was clearly not enough to satisfy my inner masochist, because driven by a PadamPadam-inspired bout of Jung Woo Sung love, I decided to give Athena: Goddess of War another chance. I thought seeing that now I know it was just loud, slick, soulless action thing, I could enjoy it better due to adjusted expectations. We'll see. Have a pretty MV:

5. Watching Tree with Deep Roots got me quite interested in Sejong. Anyone know if 2008 drama Great King Sejong is subbed? I am not sure if I have the fortitude to sit through 80+ eps but I have been watching subbed clips of it on youtube with a great deal of enjoyment, concentrating on the dysfunctional royal family ones. Apparently, )at least according to the drama) before making Sejong's wife Queen, Taejong had her Daddy executed, the rest of her family demoted to lowest ranks, and eight concubines 'donated' to Sejong, all so that no woman would have much influence. That must have made for an interesting marriage for Sejong and wife...

Yeah, agree that the teaser for the Moon that Embraces the Sun is suspect. Where are all of the adults so that we can see the chemistry. Ahhhh, kland. I'm on to you. You do read our comments and are confident that the kids stars will sell the drama for you. Alas, not true. There will be no transference if the adults have no chemistry and the kids do. I learned from WBDS.

I love TWDR. King Sejong is a troubled and sleepless monarch. I was fortunate enough to see Tears of the Dragon, which is no longer available. You can see how Taejong inherited his crazy from his father. Taejong and father were scary, but Taejong's sons were mild by comparison. He repented in the end though.

Also, when the teaser only shows the kids, it makes me wonder about the proportion of kid v. grown-up scenes. Apparently Moon hasn't even started filming adult parts yet.

Don't get me started on WBDS.

Tears of the Dragon sounds fascinating.

I'm still iffy about The moon that embraces the sun, Han Ga In is such a bland actress but I sincerely hope that this drama is good and that the child actors have great chemistry and then the adults have none.

Ugh I am not a fan of the kids stuff in sageuks. I can understand why they are there and I loved the kids in The Legend but 6 episodes or more... ugh

And why would you want to waste so much time on the kids when you have a pretty good adult cast?

Idk maybe this will end up like City Hunter that had just terrible promos and things but ended up completely amazing...

Yeah, but unlike CH, I have non-promo things that give me pause - age difference (which I would be fine with if it was part of the story, but he's supposed to be 2 yrs older than she!!!!!) and the ep distribution of child stuff. Ugh.

Ah, that trailer for Moon... confused me. ._. Because someone is doing translations of the book and the King is already a grown up by the first chapter (and already attracted to the Shaman, lol). And his brother doesn't seem as prominent as what the drama is showing.

Great young line-up though, Kim Yoo Jung and Lee Min Ho (not the City Hunter guy lol) *___*

And Goong S is so so bad it's the only drama I never finished.

Goong S is quite amazing in its badness.

I don't really care for kid storylines at all, even though kdramas have capable kid actors.
