Crying screaming crying screaming crying screaming crying...

You know, every scene between Chae Yoon and So Yi bristles with so much chemistry and so many layers. It could be their (unknown to each other) common past that shaped them to be so compatible or to understand each other so well, or it could be inborn affinity. Also, the usual physical reserve of sageuks, makes the tiniest physical gesture so immense - when So Yi touched Chae Yoon's arm (though a sleeve), I thought I'd hyperventilate. Also, they are so similar in their passionate dedication to a particular cause and their take-no-prisoners smarts and animating trauma. I've rarely seen characters who are such perfect mirrors of each other. So I wonder whether So Yi telling CY that she believes in Sejong more than herself (especially once CY will find out she's Dahm) will penetrate through CY's desire for revenge against Sejong and make him open to alternate truth (but then his revenge has been his excuse for living - what will he do if it's gone - it's a good thing he will find Dahm again, then).

So Yi discovers that Ddolbok may be alive.

She's captured by the bad guys as bait for Chae Yoon and she's so effing hardcore, it's insane. Especially the way she reacts to the threat of torture - you can tell even the psycho enforcer is freaked out.

And then her escape. It's the most insane, ballsiest, insane, brilliant, insane thing I've seen.

The moment Chae Yoon realizes Dahm is still alive and that she is So Yi. I started bawling and didn't stop until the credits rolled.

So Yi, injured, is still running to their meeting place. And so is Chae Yoon.

She wonders why the palace guard is there and hides just in case. And then she hears him scream "Dahm!!!!" OMFG my heart my heart my heart my heart.

I just got to ep 13 (and posted on it 10 secs ago) and OMFG, it makes the scene in ep 12 seem like nothing.

The show keeps doing that. The only time it gives any reprieve is MUCH further along when you will appreciate being given such reprieve. It keeps topping itself by unfolding yet another or more intense plot point. Enjoy.

I love being privy to your hilarious, "unfiltered" reactions.

I feel like everyone on your flist (well, everyone ahead of you with TwDR) has been waiting for you to reach ep. 12. :) That ending, that gut-wrenching scream just about tore apart everyone. At least you didn't have to wait for eps. 13-14.

And then her escape. It's the most insane, ballsiest, insane, brilliant, insane thing I've seen.

She was risking her life, yet it felt so exhilarating to watch as a viewer.

I think it's because she is so active in her fate - she is no passive victim despite plenty of reasons for being so.

That scene is just - I don't remember last time I had fingers to my mouth like this. But then the scene in ep 13 tops it, imo.

I was seriously impressed with Soyi's escape plan. And as implausible as it might be, I actually believed it because she is so intelligent. I love smart heroines.

unrelated to the post...but have you tried watching The Duo? I'm 2 episodes into that drama and it's really good so far! and i've heard only positive things about it from ppl who've watched the whole thing.

I've heard mixed things about it and the trailer didn't grab me, so dunno - but I'll probably get to it sometime. I hate dramas with long childhood portions though.

oh right i forgot that you don't like the childhood portions. but the child actors are really good! and they're not too young. probably 15 years old or so.

Dol Bok calling out for Dam in his lost little boy voice... tears and cheers! One of the best reunion scenes ever! So satisfying. I like that the writer didn't make us viewers wait too long it or have it happen too early because in either situation, the scene wouldn't have its full intended impact.
