Before I get to them though, why does Sejong not want So Yi to know that Chae Yoon is Ddolbok whom she grieved for? I honestly can't think of a reason, good or bad. Explain, someone.
Chae Yoon interrogates the (tough, smart, gorgeous, contained) So Yi. This scene was so beautifully filmed, acted, written. Like the rest of this drama. You know, it is perhaps fitting that So Yi is mute - this is one of the rare dramas which knows how to use silences. And also for drama about liberation of writing, this is important - if she were illiterate, So Yi could not communicate at all.
The scene with young Sejong (I miss him!!!!!) and So Yi. I loved this - I wonder if she will be able to keep Chae Yoon from his doomed bloody vengeance by being a key to exposing the truth about the past.

Date: 2011-12-12 10:38 pm (UTC)I don't know if the next eps. will become more convincing, but at that point in the series, he's still reeling from the shock of finding out Chae Yoon = Ddolbok, and if that wasn't overwhelming enough, the man wants to kill him. And I think at that point, it's his own feelings about Ddolbok (I'm the one who saved him, and he wants to kill me-- what do I do now?) that get in the way of sharing the news with Soyi. He's also concerned for her, not knowing for sure what Ddolbok has turned out to be like, and there's also selfishness on some level (the fear of losing her as a confidante and partner for his work), but at that point, it's his inability to sort out how he himself feels about Ddolbok's return as an assassin that I think is the biggest obstacle.
