I realized I never posted these...

Here because he's gorgeous.

Jung and Kyung Hee, one of my favorite secondary OTPs.

I love every one of their horse-riding scenes because of how it ties into the narrative of freedom in the story - how it can be romantic (first ride) or dark and awful (in ep 14) or just how it shows their togetherness (here).

KH visits Jung in jail and I bawl. Discussion about the baby omg.

She gets ready for his execution.

Oh God.

I loved that Se Ryung didn't tell Seung Yu the real date of the execution as Jung asked, because that wouldn't save Jung and just kill SY. And I love how he doesn't blame SR for it later.

DIAF please. Well, you actually do later and slightly redeem yourself.

He finds out Jung is dead.

Honestly, I have no words for how much I love them. And I love that at least, no matter what else is going on in their lives, they have each other for trust and support - that he can finally fall asleep on her shoulder and that she has someone who is worthy of her love and trust.

Ah, yes, this scene. *gibber gibber gibber*

More to come. After all, I still have ep 23-24 caps.

The scenes with Jung and KH killed me. I adored them and Jung was such a good husband and a good person and the way their relationship grew was so sweet. God when she's putting on makeup to look her best as it's the last time he'll be seeing her ;________; I love KH and how strong she is. Everyone she loves is slowly killed off and yet she still stays on her feet and doesn't fall apart (I mean, the woman watches her husband get executed in the most barbaric ways). All the women in this drama have so much strength and courage.

And SY/SR OTP! I love them. They have this amazing bond and just the intimacy the two share. They share so much just with the smallest of looks (it actually reminded me a bit of In the Mood for Love where they didn't need words to convey their feelings). And I love that with them you really get why they need each other and why even after everything they're still so compatible. I feel like she pretty much brought him back from the darkness even if all her actions weren't solely for him (another thing I love. She didn't sever her ties with her father for him but because she couldn't just stand around and watch her father sacrifice so many innocent lives). The chemistry between the two actors was ridiculous!
That scar kissing scene made me flail.

Gah, Jung and Kyung Hee made me cry so much. Yes, that scene where she puts on makeup was like (T.T), and they talk about the baby, and then she stands right there watching him get executed...I couldn't see through the tears. And then I cried again when she had the most adorable baby and Jung wasn't there and *glub*.

I know - there was more intimacy in this drama than in most modern ones.

And I agree, it was her goodness (not even directed at him, but general goodness) that brought him back from the dark side.

I loved Lee Min-Woo in Tears of the Dragon (in which he played Sejong's older brother, Taejong's first-born, and the first Crown Prince before he was pushed out in Sejong's favor-- he was the traumatized offspring in ToD, a la Song Joong-Ki in TwDR). I think Jung Jong was his most popular sageuk role since ToD, it got me curious enough I checked out some of his scenes, and his final scenes, on YT, even though I was on a k-drama break. Wasn't as meaty as in ToD (but that was close to a lead part, when he was still the heir), but the romance was the focus here anyway and I liked his chemistry with Hong Soo-Hyun.

OK, now I must watch TotD.

Btw, tomorrow is marathon TWDR day. I will probably be comatose but happy.
