Because that means shortly I will turn into an irrational, gibbering wreck, the way I do with the best dramas. Good-bye sanity and sleep.

But! This scene! It literally made it hurt in the pit of my stomach. They are eating and she says something that is incredibly hurtful to him but she has no idea that it would be so. And he lashes out, only deliberately and guuuuuuuuuuh, the pain. (Also, Han Go Eun is freaking me out with her fixation on him but that is another story - stop stalking!).












This drama has been advertised as a comedy and it is pretty funny in places, but it is laughter through tears, and I really like that.

Another thing I like? Lee Ji Ah never plays meek characters who take and take and take crap from people. No - Jae Hee is horrible to Bong Sun so even though she is so wounded (her eyes! but then his eyes too!) she slaps him. Yesssss.

If you are not yet convinced to give this drama a chance, one of my wonderful flisties linked me to this MV. It should change your mind.

This is a great drame, but a comedy? Too much hurt (too deep) for the three main characters... Wonder if we'll have a happen ending or a collective suicide :-(

Exactly. Sure, it has funny moments but whoever labeled this a comedy clearly was the same person who labeled 49 Days one (yes, the latter was labeled it as a comedy, wtf). Though I am really really needing a happy ending for this one.

It makes me think of the advertising for City Hunter - the ads not only failed to show what the story was about, they got the vibe all wrong. This is a wistful, tender drama not a zany romcom at all.

I love this drama. It's like a happier WHIB and has a defined OTP, but everything else about the main characters is so filled with similar shades of pain and hidden trauma involving abandonment and hopelessness about their lives.

First off, I am dying to read your recaps because even the stuff outside the cuts makes me slaver like a Pavlovian puppy. I am trying to get through this as soon as real life allows (which is not very, alas).

Also, I was seeing some WHIB vibes and was wondering if I was hallucinating, so thank you for bringing that up!

I love how on one level, all three main characters are functional people (because the world doesn't stop no matter what) but inside their heads they are all doing the equivalent of rocking back and forth and screaming.

I am stunned I love this because neither Kim Sam Soon nor What's Up Fox worked for me on a very fundamental level but this is so perfectly calibrated that I am blown away.

Btw, so glad you like YSY now! (Who stopped looking like Junki and makes me think of young Song Il Gook for some reason).

I want to kidnap YSY but don't repeat that anywhere. He will destroy you in the upcoming eps. I've gotten over my YSY mocking phase and now think he's incredible as a young actor. He's actually playing BOTH JIS and SJS's roles in WHIB. He's the broken poor kid with a chip on his shoulder AND the rich dissociated bitter man. His dual sides which are both him (it's not an act at all) is just brilliantly portrayed. And the love story is nnnnngggggggg %(^&*^&*%R$^*%&*(^&* So Fucking Amazing. That is all. Please catch up so we can spazz together~

So very good. They are both so fractured and its those similarities that is allowing them to open up to each other but then its also what makes their hits so direct and painful.

Awww. I am soooooo in love with this show. It's an illness, my BFF knows every bit of what transpires in the show because I need to irl chat about this with someone so bears the burden of sitting, listening and nodding her head.
