I wonder if it says something disturbing about me that the only character on this show I sympathize with is the maybe-terrorist. Or maybe it is because the agents make me want to kill things. Because I cannot say this often enough, but what the representatives of 'law and order' are doing on this show is so very illegal it sets my teeth on edge (no, this is NOT the way to get a warrant!). I half-want Brody to be a terrorist, and his first act to blow the agency up.

Also, I think everyone on this one could use a decade of therapy each. But every agent should only get it after a decade in jail.

Also also, by now I find Carrie an interesting character (and she's clearly not a well person) but I still think she's an appalling human being. Also brought up by robots. I confess I almost LOLed when she was all "the dude spent all day curled up in a corner. It can't be because he has PTSD, it must be a part of some evil terrorist plan." I mean, what plan? Communing with the walls which would psychically transmit messages to the bomb makers? Practicing his x-ray vision to steal government data? Secretly indicating his solidarity with the fearsome Walls Are White terrorist group? What? I have no idea if the man is a terrorist (more inclined to yes on that one, actually, if I had to pick) but I have yet to figure how sitting in a corner can be any evidence of the same.

ETA: Watched ep 3 and all I have to say is that the sex scenes in this show are enough to put one off sex for life. THERAPY!!!!!!!! SEEK IT!!!!!

Lmfao at your last comment. And ia. I have never felt more awkward and horrible watching a sex scene.

This show is SO GOOD. The deeper the stories go, the more intricate it gets and the more confused I get. I spent the last ep (ep 4 or 5 I think. haven't caught up yet) all "He's a terrorist! No no red herring totally. NO HE'S TOTALLY A TERRORIST!!! Aw oh poor Brody man Damien Lewis is awesomeTERRORIST!!!!!"
The show is such a ride while being genuinely good with some fantastic performances. I'm so excited to see where this goes!

And god yes, ita with you about Carrie. I started out liking her but then for some reason, it started feeling like I was watching Angela Chase having some sort of psychotic breakdown in another dimension or something and yeah... it's possible my Claire Danes bias is getting in the way.

I've finished the first episode, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep watching because this show seems to be valorizing Carrie's completely criminal behavior as "thinking outside the box" blahblah. Ugh, I really can't stand the politics of the show at all. >:| which is too bad because I love Damian Lewis.

I watched seven episodes in a row yesterday (benefits of a long weekend ;) and I think I'm done with the show. If I still can't stand Carrie and I still keep thinking "how is it even possible she still has a job at all let alone one with a high level security clearance?" then I think it's time for me to cut my losses. Too bad because the premise was good, but maybe the original Israeli show on which this was based handled the weird unconvincing coincidences better than this one does.
