Cheesy cheesy goodness
Nov. 13th, 2011 10:49 pmMr. Mousie and I went to see In Time yesterday and both enjoyed it (I thought it would be an awesome pilot for a cool scifi show a la Dark Angel. *sigh*)
But this is not the post about that. This is the post about one of the movie trailers in front of it - The Vow, starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams. First off, Channing Tatum does ridiculous things to my hormones - I like my guys slightly beefy/jocky-looking and mmmm. More importantly, it's as if someone decided that John Abraham/Vidya Balan subplot in Salaam-e-Ishq deserved its own movie.
!!!!!!!
If you are not a Bollywooder, basically the plot is that Channing and Rachel are newly-weds, they get into a car accident and she forgets him entirely and he has to get her to fall in love with him again. It looks beyond swoony:
Speaking of men who make me non-verbal, Thor's Chris Hemsworth is very high on the list. So I will check out Snow White and the Huntsman just for him. Or for him and a medieval setting as I am a sucker for the same. Sadly, Kristin Stewart cannot act to save her life and am a little dubious as to how many Snow White stories do we need anyway - Once Upon a Time is currently filling my quota.
Now, too bad the huntsman and Snow White are unlikely to hook up :P
Trailer does look gorgeous though - I have never been able to refuse a medieval setting - too few movies are set then.

Date: 2011-11-14 04:47 am (UTC)I find the Snow White revival interesting? I wish there were other tales (like "Snow Queen" or "East of the Sun, West of the Moon," which are my favorites) getting attention instead of just the one, but I think there are interesting things to be done with the different mythic versions of Snow White.

Date: 2011-11-14 06:08 am (UTC)I don't get the sudden Snow White fixation. Growing up, my favorite tales were Russian, Anderson (Snow Queen!) or Middle-Eastern but there are plenty of other even Western European stories that are not Snow White.

Date: 2011-11-14 04:50 am (UTC)The Vow...next Valentine`s Day movie...I hope it will be a good ending. Because isn`t there a 3rd guy fighting for Rachel McAdams`affection?

Date: 2011-11-14 05:57 am (UTC)don't actually think much of Channing's acting abilities, but I could live with him if he loves Rachel....also he can't be as bad as Kristen Stewart...in the words of my best friend, I could probably act better than her..as a cow...sigh...the trailer for Snowhite looks really goodand Charlize is breathtaking and I would really want to watch it excpet Kristen is a big turnoff to me...majorly allergic!!!

Date: 2011-11-14 07:24 am (UTC)Oooh, the Snow White trailer. I watched it a few days ago and was intrigued by the premise (Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman doesn't hurt). For some reason, though, I've got a few doubts about how it'll be pulled off. Doesn't matter because I'm a sucker for fairy tale interpretations, so this is high on my list of movies to check out.
Speaking of which, I was finally able to watch Once Upon a Time tonight, and I'm so glad that I liked it after all! I'm going to catch up with the episodes I missed when I get the chance.

Date: 2011-11-14 07:44 am (UTC)And I have to say that trailer left me shipping Evil Queen/the Hunstman more but I suspect your hope is likelier to happen. ;)

Date: 2011-11-14 01:54 pm (UTC)The "fairest of them all" franchise is in keeping with the meaning I understood as a child. It's the pure of heart that matters as beauty is very subjective....SW here is giving off a Joan of Arc vibe though.

Date: 2011-11-14 02:15 pm (UTC)personally i'm hemming for threesome; clearly charming's unimportant here. ^__^ i hope kristen can act, too. i love her and rpattz irl they are sources or perpetual joy to me, so i'm rooting for her! snow white in armour in the midst of battle's my kind of thing and apparently hers, too.

Date: 2011-11-14 02:20 pm (UTC)John & Vidya were my favourite s/l in Salaam-e-Ishq, I wanted so much more of them. I'm probably going to end up youtubing vids from the movie now lol

Date: 2011-11-14 04:09 pm (UTC)I can't decide whether I want to see Snow White or not. Apparently I'm the only woman in America who doesn't like Chris Hemsworth, and I don't care for Kristen Stewart, but the trailer kinda makes me want to watch it.

Date: 2011-11-14 08:20 pm (UTC)Generally speaking, being bred on kdramas, I find the movie romance format inadequate in fulfilling my romance needs. I always walk away wanting so much more.

Date: 2011-11-15 11:29 am (UTC)Snow White does look awesome and Charlize looks fabulous and looks gorgeous. Visually the movie looks awesome but still think they cast the wrong Snow, Kirsten is as charismatic as a block of wood. I do hope the other Snow white movie with Lily Collins as Snow and Arnie Hammer as the Prince is good.
