Why didn't anyone inform me that Ringer co-starred Ioan Gruffudd as Buffy'sSarah Michelle Gellar's OTP?

This is full-blown 1990s heaven, you guys! I used to be so obsessed with Horatio Hornblower minis when I was in college - it was one of my earliest fandoms (ah, anyone remember the crumpeteers? Ahhh, Archie, my love! But I loved Horatio madly too, of course). I even wrote fic...

Between Buffy and HH, I am feeling a good 10+ yrs younger - I want to dig out my DVDs now...

Plus, the whole "she is impersonating her twin sister and is falling for her twin sister's husband, who is shocked to find his harpy of a wife be kind and cool and is falling for 'her' all over again" is so very kdrama.

Also, only thing is better than Buffy is two Buffies :)

Between this and Nick Weschler (Kyle on Roswell, my long-ago obsession show) being in Revenge, it's like nostalgia run!

Have a Bridget/Andrew MV:

Have you seen The Secret of Moonacre? Horatio Hornblower plays a grumpy gothic uncle in love with a woman from the family of his family's enemy of a few centuries.

I love the show's pretentious overuse of mirrors, and also when they have Stripper Buffy pose in front of the giant portrait thing of Rich Buffy in their apartment.

(I am happy to go along with the show's desire that I ship Bridget/Andrew, on the conditions that there are no sexytimes until after he knows who she is.)

I need to find TSoM right NOW!

The show is very schlocky but it knows it and it's very entertaining with it, so I don't mind. No idea if I'd like it half as much if it didn't star SMG and IG though.

The plot actually reminds me of this Bette Davis movie about one good and one evil twin, where the evil twin gets the man good twin loves but then evil twin dies, good twin impersonates, eventually HEA. Heh.

I don't mind sexytimes before but that would certainly be morally baaaaaad on her part (not on his, as he obviously has no idea). A funny thing is in my torts class they used a pretty much identical situation as an example of an old common law doctrine of 'rape by trick' (if a woman sleeps with a man thinking it's her husband but it's actually her husband's twin pretending to be him, it's 'rape by trick' as opposed to 'by force' and was prosecutable as such under common law. Random).

Secret of Moonacre's on Netflix if you have it. I have it queued in my instant watch queue. LOL, I have to get around to it.

What's so weird is that I have a twin but not sure if we're still good twin bad twin or if now, the onward march of time has made us morally grey twins. :P

The lead of Moonacre is Horatio Hornblower's 13-year-old niece (the actress is fabulous) who naturally is pre-paired with the 'bad bOY" heir of the enemy family. It's a bit twee and wholesome (though nothing compared to the book in that regard) but very fun.

See, if Bridget and Andrew had sexytimes (Makeouts ok-and, tbh, I don't think her brain actually made the 'impersonating sister=sex with sister's husband' connection until he was there, and she seemed more resigned than "Woo! Sexytimes!' then.) before the reveal then I'd only be able to view it as EXTREMELY dubious consent at my most generous, and as Bridget is our protagonist and Bridget/Andrew the show's OTP, it would heavily impact my enjoyment of both.

LOVE Hornblower! I watched it with my best friend and we made pacts over who got to have a crush on whom (I happily gave up Archie so long as I could have Bush). Then I watched it with my dad and grandfather, which was a totally different experience. My grandpa read the books as a kid growing up in Depression-era New York--he was over the moon when I found him a full set. Though book!Hornblower is very different from TV!Hornblower--less pretty, more neurotic, but still awesome.

Yeah, I loved both books and movies.

And this is such a cool story about your family.

Hahah you watch it too? It's so trashy but so fun. Dunno that he's her OTP though. I am curious where they will go with all of it. She certainly seems to find him touching and sweet, but I do not see any serious romance yet whatsoever. She is still mainly emotionally invested in Malcolm... who I guess will get killed off to free her up for the writers, poor guy.

Wrote my Master's Thesis on Hornblower novels, mainly because of the miniseries & Ioan... :D

LOVE the books & the series! Horatio & Bush are by far my favourites! Hmm, the series deserves a re-watch soon...

I also get a wave of nostalgia watching Roswell's Kyle in the new Revenge show.

Ironically enough, the first show I started last month was Ringer. And I couldn't get into it! T__T instead I became addicted to "The Lying Game" (which I lost interest after about 5 episodes) and the incredible "Switched at Birth"! I really need to give Ringer a second shot!

OMG, Sarah Michelle Geller's series started? I'm gonna go watch it because she's one of the few 90s stars who did credit to herself and never did anything to change my good opinion of her.
