I realise I watch too much tv when I checked 7 out of 9 boxes for the first question. 8D

Hey, I checked all 9! (Though tbh, I've only seen one Vietnamese drama. It was cute though).

Oh, you watch Singapore dramas too?

Little Nyonya (though I need to finish - I loved what I saw though) and Mobile Love Story are the only two so far. I have a whole bunch dled and ready to go though.

If I had to rank in order of fave, it would be: Korea, Mainland, Taiwan, HK, Thai, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam but is subject to change once I watch more SG dramas.

I would never recommend watching Singapore dramas. Almost every one has a national education message in it. ><

Unless you're talking old school, like from back when I was in primary school and SG dramas were made just for entertainment.

totally agreed =( they used to make such awesome dramas; i don't know why they have to insist that every drama ends with four couples getting married simultaneously nowadays! =.=

btw dyou remember this fann wong-thomas ong drama where she was a rich girl, him a trishaw boy but ultimately she becomes a ghost or he rescues her in her next life or something? i can't remember the title cos i was really young when i watched it, but it's one of the most memorable ever to me - the first drama i have a strong impression of and i remember it was so tragic and romantic.

sorry for crashing but may I ask where you download your singapore dramas?
I'm a singaporean so I've always watched the dramas on the tv when it airs. There are a couple I would love to download and keep though. Thanks!

mousieee this is a tad OT but if you can ever find it i would recommend this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Unbroken_Cycle - i don't really remember the story but this is the first (sg) drama i remember from childhood and one of the only ones that both my parents (even my dad) actually remember. it's supposed to be tragic and really romantic, and features two of singapore's most evergreen leads (they pretty much look the same as they did then =.=)

Last question was HARD. Decided solely on the basis of my current love, Taiwanese buddy cop drama Black & White, in which Wu Ying Xiong and Chen Zai Tien make me fall off the couch laughing one minute and then clutch my pillow and scream uselessly the next. Also, I am tremendously looking forward to Choi Siwon in Poseidon...

This was a very hard poll!!! I watch mainly Korean dramas because I love dramafever and am spoiled there.

I believe my favorite drama genre are hybrid things. romcom/action(revenge plots being my fave!)

I thought "favorite genre" and "idea genre man" were both pretty difficult decisions before coffee. And I wouldn't swear my answers will be the same by night fall :)

I need to watch more Thai lakorns! I use to catch episodes here and there when I was in my home country. Love the language.

I think HK dramas are the most realistic and they have the longest history in asian showbiz. Everyone chinese person and their mother/father/grandmother in southeast asia grew up with them as a kid XD So me too probably, although I get tired of the recycling of actors. Tdramas are too crazy and crappy nowadays. The mandarin pronunciation in Sdramas are too painful to listen but the plot can be good. Kdramas for angst, Jdrama (the good ones) have the more profound plots, Mainland makes the better period dramas. So that covers all basis for me. Haha!!

I hate a hero who dies and is dim, so rich angsty chaebol for me, whatever chaebol means XD

chaebol = privately-held Korean corporations but also individuals who own them.

goofy neurotic hothead was sadly not an option because that is my ideal drama dude.

Ehh Joo Won and Ji Heon! Those are who I am thinking of, well Joo Won is less goofy and hotheaded but I think he had an intense character and he was definitely eccentric, I love the weirdos what can I say?

LOL I'm all for the rich angsty chaebol. I love hurt/comfort scenes - even better if I'm the starring female who gets to provide him said comfort. :P 'Sides, moneyyyyy! ♥

I voted for procedural in the genre question, but frankly most of my favourite dramas have been a mix of genres - like Chosun Police 3; period, mystery and a healthy dose of romance and angst! Or Sungkyunkwan Scandal. I guess I'm just greedy.
