If you have anymore time in your tv schedule, give A Fistful of Stances (TVB production) a try. It stars KC (one of the two male leads) and is set in the pre-modern period (YAY for non-Qing hair?). KC aside, the plot is good, with some angst which I think you might appreciate. If you want something lighter, try Under The Canopy of Love - it's a cheesy romance drama.

I found Feng Shao Feng in Jade Palace hot despite the haircut and the same is the case here with Kevin Cheng but I am not sure anymore whether it is because I have watched enough of these to be brainwashed by now

I ship Ruoxi with Four because no matter how hot Kevin Cheng is, I like Four's characterization better with Ruoxi.

Also, Ruolan and Eight actually had a normal marriage in the book--she was pregnant and everything before she had a miscarriage. Then she got depressed and Eight investigated the lover thereby acting as the catalyst behind how the lover died. So I think the whole reason why Ruolan gave up was she was okay with pretending to have a normal relationship as long as Eight knew but once she knew he knew, she couldn't keep up the pretense anymore.

I actually got that sense in the drama too - he was asking her about having a relationship 'again' or something to that effect, which led me to believe they had one at some point. I find Ruolan awfully frustrating - I mean, who the heck enjoys self-inflicted misery? You only have one life, live it up. Get Kevin naked, girl!

I prefer RX with Four too. I just like how she brings out his hidden amusement and they are awfully compatible. I just finished ep 6 and the whole back and forth, faster and faster, about his likes and dislikes, was just 100% awesome. They don't have many scenes together yet but all they do are my favorites. (OMFG random bizarre thought - he is like fanon Snape!)
