But I just can't seem to get into Protect the Boss mania. Don't get me wrong, it is an enjoyable watch (with the liberal use of ff button, I confess) but I don't love it, don't pine for subs, don't scour the net for spoilers. I feel no urgency to watch it at all and if I found out tomorrow I wouldn't be able to watch another ep ever, I wouldn't care.

I think ultimately it's too light, fluffy, kooky and cartoonish for me. I just don't see any of them as real and realistic people and so I can't seem to get emotionally involved.

I feel left out :(

I'm feeling the same way!! I love romcoms but I don't know why this isn't clicking for me. I just watched ep 7 and I kept spacing out. :/

You are not alone.... I don't know what's wrong with me. Well i am the rare one who don't enjoy watching rom-com. Don't get me wrong, that used to be my fav genre back in the days. The last rom-com i truly enjoy would be Coffee Prince.

I want more drama with angst.. melodrama... action thriller like TBDW and CH.

It's okay, don't feel bad! Dramas are personal, and your preference is your own. I'm just happy you took a chance on it.

I myself like it, but am not quite emotionally involved in the characters themselves. It's an overall likeable drama though, and I plan to finish it all in a marathon when it ends, quite possibly as a pick-me-up cos it's soo light and fluffy =)

That's not a bad idea. I might steal it :)

haha, don't sweat it - different strokes for different folks and all that!! Really, I can't say I'm obsessed with it either... I'm much more invested in Scent of a Woman and Princess's Man. I just enjoy watching it because it's a nice change from the angst/tears/tragedy of the other two, and for some reason, I just never got into Myung-wol the Spy... and still, as far as comedies go, I look forward to Ouran High School Host Club much more. ;)

Oohh, so I wasn't alone, I did say I didn't liked PTB, but after episode 5 I started to like - enjoy it, but like you say there is no love, I wouldn't die if I couldn't watch it, and I also didn't connect with any character. Yeah they are adorable, but I also don't feel they are real, people saying they are very real... I don't get them. Maybe because the drama is focusing too much on the comedic, I can't see to care... J always getting Lose, E does after him, M is already loving E what is a little too fast IMO and totally forgot N who he said he liked not to long ago... yeah PTB is funny but I had to choose I would stay with my The princess' man all the way!

Funny I also didn't enjoy Best Love... I didn't find it funny while everyone claims it's the best drama of the year... don't know...

I didn't enjoy Best Love but I love to bits PtB indeed sometimes they look too cartoonish and sometimes are too real even for me
it is a matter of taste : they hit me at the end of ep 6 however at the ep 7 I was laughing like crazy at 3AM - I think I woke up the neighbours and at the end I was screaming at the laptop MuWon sucker take your phone, who is going to a date without the phone?? - you know Korean drama they invented the ON/OFF button What if she fell into a fountain?911?

Given its main hero and the over the topness, it could have been worse. I can't stand these type dramas but the fact that I like Protect the Boss for me it's saying something.

Don't worry, I have dramas that everyone loves that I didn't like. My Lovely Sam Soom for instance. I mean, it's a nice story and everything but apart from the chemistry between the leads it did nothing for me. I didn't get why everyone went insane over it. Bit overrated for me.

Right? Right? I don't understand why it so popular. I am seriously wondering why? There was nothing new about the plot, except that she was 'fat' (I don't see how she was, she might not have been the average skinny leading lady but she was not fat) That entire drama just irritates me.

I like PTB without duing to watch it though. It's kind of hilarious sometimes without being overplayed... And the characters are all nice people witch is a plus for me.
I hope angst comes, it will add a plus.

I always wonder why and how a drama "click" with us or not... Psychotherapy might give an answer... :-)

SHUN THE NONBELIEVER! Protect the Boss is perfection!!!

Just kidding although not really. :)

It happens to everyone though. There are just some dramas that for some reason just annoy us. I mean, Best Love? I HATED IT. HATED HATED HATED IT. And A LOT of people seemed to love that. I was also kinda bored with Prosecutor Princess and people love that like crazy.

I love PTB the best romcom i've seen this year, i had to wait 5 eps before i really loved it. As for Best Love i could not get pass ep 2, i tried to rewatch it but i failed. Is either i don't get the humor of the show or there might be something wrong with me lols

I agree. PtB is so excellently written and acted. I am not even a romcom fan and I like it, so that is saying a lot.

BL was just not my thing.
