One of my favorite Bollywood actors, Shammi Kapoor, a huge star in the 1960s, has just passed away.

Have one of his most famous songs:

I think I am going to go on a Shammi binge now.

He really was amazing.

He was truly Amazing, he's the only one of his kind, not only as an actor, but as a human being as well. I have watched almost all his films "thanks to my mother's obsession with him, lol". And since I'm A MUSIC FREAK, Kashmir ki kali has to be my Favorite one of his work. May his soul RNP.

Dear dangermousie,

It is amazing to find the impact he had on the generations in India and abroad. I always go back to his movies when I need warmth- his songs, dances and the comedy scenes. I remember when I watched him and Hema Malini in "Andaz", it was so romantic and the songs were lovely. He had an infectious spirit-his energy was so palpable.

When yahoo was launched and the first thought I had was of his song in Junglee where he sings "yahoo...". May his soul rest in peace.
