I am going to sound like a 19th-century countess but Kang Suk's parents are so vulgar. Look, I am as common as dirt and the closest I came to upper class is that one of my ancestors was a peasant for one once, probably, but Good Lord, are they illbred! Yikes. Maybe a big accident will befall them before the wedding because the thought of Dan Ah having to live in that house breaks my brain.

Anyway, ep 11 happened and also a miracle - I finally see the possibility of shipping Dan Ah and Kang Suk (though still am frankly puzzled as to why there are so many rabid shippers for them).
I totally adored the scene where he snuck into her (feminist history! Woooo!) lecture nd actually liked listening to it. And then they had the confrontation about the genealogy she is holding on to and he wants to buy and finally he was confronted by someone who wanted to cut through preliminaries as much as he does and who was tough and unfazed by his games and utterly unimpressed - he told her if she gives it to him he might consider saving her family's company and she replied "so I will use language you understand" (ha!) the price is not enough and if he pays with his life, she might consider it. Ha! In your face, arrogant toe-rag! Yes, I still don't like Kang Suk. He's a total waste of oxygen outside of his interactions with his sister. I suppose a miracle might happen and I'll like him later but for now - ugh. (It's interesting, because I liked his namesake in Gloria right away despite him being a cold businessman - but there he didn't make it a practice to be horrid to the heroine and was clearly way messed-up).

You know who I do ship a lot? Oldest bro and that awesome parttimer girl. He is so happy around her and she's so awesome, both vulnerable and tough.

Another major ship? Stalker Girl and College Hottie. She has actually started talking! And he's kind to her though puzzled, giving her love advice (LOLOLOL if only you knew who she crushes on). I don't know, they are just squishably adorable.

And:

For those who prefer older women:

To sum up - am still puzzled as to why people love Kang Suk/Dan Ah but despite lack of shipping, enjoying the drama.
I promise to get to all replies today :) I also need to make posts on WBDS, TPM and IDN. OK, drama slate is insane.

Date: 2011-08-10 01:05 pm (UTC)With Kang Suk/Dan Ah, I guess it's the opposites attract thing, many people love that.
And the aaaangst later on, that must count for something.

Date: 2011-08-10 06:57 pm (UTC)But seriously: I hated Kang Suk in the beginning myself a lot! I am sure you will come to love him as well. And as far as I can tell, you will like the characterization of their relationship as well.

Date: 2011-08-10 07:10 pm (UTC)There's definitely something off with Kang Suk as well. He looks pretty well adjusted, cold and calculating too but.... I see cracks. There's something driving him, other than what he's letting on. We'll see, I guess.
KS's parents are awfully vulgar, aren't they. But I guess a lot of money and no education is not a good combination.
