Look, all I wanted was for SY and SR to either live together (close to impossible) or die together (not that hard). I DID NOT GET THAT WTF.

Normally, I am OK with the 'guy dies, woman lives and has guy's baby' thing (see The Outsiders and East of Eden - though EoE's ending made me want to spit nails so perhaps that trope does drive me mad).

BUT NOT HERE!!

This is seriously awful and noooo - fine, you had to kill SY, he's a marked man who's already escaped death one too many times. I don't want the whole 'wooo! Kyung Hee and Se Ryung get to be widowed young mothers together!' thing!!!!

I guess it's my payback for Chuno - I guess I know how DaeGil fans (and DG/UN shippers) felt while I was busy being giddy and happy my OTP made it.

Ignore the insane ravings. This is what I get for not reading spoilers through to the end.

Instead have this: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! I LOVE YOU, DRAMA, YOU AWESOME FAKER MCFAKERSON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay, they pretend to be dead (with help of the Queen who I love now!) and instead live happily in seclusion with kids!!!!!!!

I watched it via live streaming earlier. I can't stop my tears. I can't even believe I shed a tear for Shin and his right hand! Plus tears of joy for the happy couple! I watched this drama expecting to have a tragic ending since it was promoted as a romeo and juliet story. But, kudos to the writer! The story was beautifully written.. I'll watch it again once subs are out. ***Sigh*** My morning coffee never tasted that good! What a way to start the day!

I just finished watching ep 24 raw and I spent the episode crying and then crying some more but with a huge grin on my face.
I really hope that after this MCW will start getting better parts (I want to see the movie she's in Bow, it looks awesome)
It seems Se Ryung's character was based on two real princesses, Princess Uiryeong (it seems she was removed from the family registry for some reason) and Princess Uisook who abandoned royal life and ended up marrying and having two sons.

The name of the apocryphal princess is debated, but supposedly she opposed her father's actions, just as Se Ryeong had here. Hence, expunged from the family registry and other records. Supposedly Sejo (Suyang) ran into her later in his life at a Buddhist temple.

As for her name:
• Yi Se-hui (이세희)
• Yi Se-jeong (이세정)
• Princess Uiryeong (의령공주)
• Princess Uihwa (의화공주)

But all this is apocryphal and will likely remain so, since - in addition to any expunging that may have happened - women's history got majorly shafted during Confucian Joseon era.

I watched this morning with out knowing the ending and have to adnit that I lost it there for a few minutes in the prison. That was me over in the corner sobbing like a crazy fool :) That noise you heard earlier was me doing my Anakin Skywalker impression: Noooooooooooo!

For me this is the one to beat for drama of the year. Absolutely loved it! :)

I might actually be able to watch it now. I've really WANTED to after all your enthusing, but I didn't think I could handle the inevitable heartbreak--I like lots of angst but I want my favorite characters' suffering to mean something in the end (i.e. they overcome all and get the happy ending they've darned well earned!) Knowing they make it through to the end together will help me withstand all the heartbreak in the middle. ;)
