Who knew hurt/comfort could be giggly
Sep. 13th, 2011 08:05 amTo take a break in between watching the subbed trailer of Qi Shi Huang Fei for the eighteenth time, I watched more of the HK period mystery/romp Relics of an Emissary. I am on ep 8 now and totally adore it. It is so rare to find a period drama that is actually light and funny and fun and this one is, even with all the mysterious murders and succession fights going on. It's delightful.

It gives me what I want - scheming, hot guys, sword fights, fun ladies, hurt/comfort even but manages to be so much fun at the same time! I mean, here we have a h/c scene with our resident OTP, i.e. Spoiled Cute Princess/Hot Period Cop and it's actually funny! She has no idea what to do and the bickering over who gets to sew his wound is loltastic (of course she does, and makes comments about how she wishes she paid more attention to her mother's lessons on meedlework). Also, it took 8 eps, but she finally warmed up to him. I guess taking a dagger in the back to protect you will take you a lot with some girls :P I have no idea why I like her, because she's awfully high maintenance and often ditzy, but she is so cute and fun and, underneath it all, does have a backbone of steel and belief in honor (like when they are being chased by assassins and he tells her to leave him because he's wounded and will slow her down and she tells him no way, he saved her life, she has to take him along).
( Caps from that scene )
