First off have some pretty which is not to blame for insane fangirls and helps me to calm down.

And another:

1...2...3...RANT

Ahhh, fandom, how I wish I could say you surprised me with your vitriol towards the heroine because she isn't worshipping at the feet of your lust object.

I made the mistake of leaving comments on when watching ep 7 of Summer Desire on viikii. If there are people more idiotic than youtube commenters, I believe I found them.

The amount of sheer rage towards the heroine was...spectacular. Oh, really, fangirls? You think the heroine is a "golddigger bitch?" And you think she should suffer suffer suffer.

Has she killed someone? Cheated on the father of her 10 children who's been earning their keep by backbreaking labor? Abused a cat?

No.

Half-mad with grief due to the deaths of her parents and her brother's critical condition, she dumped her boyfriend and was very brutal about it because she blamed him for her family's accident (perhaps not too rationally but understandably - he set a chain of events in motion that eventually led to the car wreck).

And then, 5+ years later when they meet again, she's commited an even more grievous sin of not wanting to hook up with him again - she has the temerity of being in a dating relationship with someone else.

Oh, the WHORE OF BABYLON!

You know, FRELL that.

You know, fangirls, just because you want to bang the guy like a drum, does not make it a cardinal sin for the heroine to not crawl over broken glass to kneel in front of him.

Also - I fail to see anyone frothing at the mouth at all the questionable things the two male heroes of this do. But, you know, that's different - after all they are hot guys!

UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH.

To make self feel better, have some caps from ep 6 since ep 7 is only out streaming (side note - mmmmmm, Ou Chen's grovelling = so yummy).

I am sorry, but I am Xiamo/Luo Xi shipper for good )

Have a triangle mv for the drama, spoilers only through the first 5 eps.

Finished ep 7.

1. Not enough Luo Xi.

2. This ep was totally the calm before the storm. I just know LX is going to wreck his own happiness himself and I want to shake him - don't do it, idiot! It's interesting, it occurred to me that all three characters are basically functioning from the same trauma - unloving and/or abandoning and/or dead parents (actually a combo of all 3) but the way they express this trauma is different - Luo Xi cannot trust and pushes people away before they can push him away even as he desperately craves love. Xiamo refuses to let anyone in. And Ou Chen just clings no matter what and refuses to let go. None of these are healthy coping methods in the least.

3. So, we finally see the entire break-up. Man, the way Xiamo dumped Ou Chen back then was so totally BRUTAL. She was so angry and hurt and lashing out and she knew exactly how to say every worst possible thing to hurt him as badly as she possibly could - all his worst fears come true. (Which certainly demonstrates a very good knowledge of him). I can't say I blame her, even if it wasn't his fault her parents died any more than it was her fault or Luo Xi's fault or little brother's fault. It was delicious to watch - ahhhh, the emo, the angst. I love angsty/evil breakups. (Side note - if he was better-adjusted/older, he'd know she was lashing out and to leave for now and try again later, not get into suicidal despair).

You know what is really sad? When she told him she never loved him and only ever dated him for her family's security and money and it turns out later, when they are talking in the present, instead of flashback, and he tells her he always knew she never loved him and only dated him for her dad's job security and the really good life and he kept hoping she'd fall for him. Why is it so sad? (1) Ou Chen is so desperate for love that he is willing to basically buy it and put up with being used as long as he has the person around him and have the insane hope of one day get them to love him for real (the whole thing later with her brother is basically an extention of that mindset - he clearly thinks if she was fine dating him earlier for family, why not marry him for that reason?) (2) The thing is, even though that is what she said and what he believed, it isn't really true - when we see them in flashback together it is pretty clear she cares for him, a lot. She is happy with him and smiles - we don't really see her that relaxed in the present, not even with LX to this extent. But being Xiamo, she'd never express her caring and, the tragic thing is, none of the fatal chain of events would happen if she did - OC tells her that the reason he was so jealous of anyone around her is because he knew she never loved him and so worried others would take her away but if he was the only one around, maybe she would see him. But the irony is, she did love him and if she expressed it in any way, he would not be in this total freak-out zone and be secure and not care about Luo Xi or whatever and so there would be no airport, no car accident, no dead parents, no nothing. (Of course, seeing how whipped he was by her, I wonder what would have happened if instead of her 'send Luo Xi to England' ultimatum, she gave him a 'my stepbrother stays or else' ultimatum. I think he would have totally caved - anything rather than lose her).

4. So, Ou Chen's family. I don't even have any words for how screwed up that situation is. I mean, his family is dysfunctional/evil but the butler takes the cake. Let's see.

1. So, his mother had him out of wedlock with some guy considered unsuitable by the family.
2. So they locked her up and wouldn't let her go to her bf or see her baby.
3. So she killed herself.
4. Instead of learning from this and deciding to stop meddling, the butler talked Grandpa into hiring fake parents for OC (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
5. They basically forced a married couple from the corporation to do that. The couple did not want and had to be blackmailed into it. Sure, that will make them A+++ parents
6. Big shock, OC grew up unloved and neglected and all alone despite the people he believed were his parents. He is as screwed up as a screwed-up thing.
7. So he latches on like a limpet to little Xiamo in part because she is so devoted to her family
8. You know, he may not have been so off the wall if he didn't have a fake family and someone to control him or bring him up.
9. OK, fine, he gets into a major car wreck. Butler decides to have some revenge on Xiamo because he blames her so he gets her kicked out of the house, her and her bro roughed up, and her thrown in jail. Xiamo naturally assumes it was her ex getting revenge. Ho lovely of you, butler. She would have taken back OC a lot sooner if not for this sort of thing.
10. Once his boss gets amnesia he decides to hire him a girlfriend. It worked so well with parents, after all.
11. He does all sorts of things to ruin Xiamo so as OC would see she is unworthy and dump her - instead it just puts obsessive OC into problematic situations
12. etc etc etc. The whole thing is, he doesn't want OC end up like his mother, so obsessed with love he'd die over it. Hello, the woman wouldn't have died if you let her do what she wanted and not try complete manipulation. Maybe that's a lesson to you? Naaaaah, couldn't be. Seriously, I get why OC views people as dolls - with upbringing like that, it's a miracle he is not locked up.

After taking a bit of a break, I went back to The Myth viikii page to copy subs for eps 36-50 (I have those for 1-35). But even though I donated, it still says "sorry, you need to be a contributor" when I click on that little 't' button in the corner which allowed me to see and copy/paste all the subs.

I mean, I can copy line for line but that will take forever.

WTF is going on?????
