There are rumors, not sure how substantiated, that Koreans want to make their own version of Hana Yori Dango. (thanks [livejournal.com profile] kitkat_cat for linking me to it)

Hmmm. Hanadan is like a kdrama already so yay if true :)

Also, according to that story (on hanadan comm), fans are picking who they'd like (not that the casting people will listen or anything) and some of them make me go whaaaaa?

Makino Tsukushi
1. Yoon Eun Hye: I can actually very much see that. She'd be my first choice. Her or Lee Ji Ah (Sujini in Legend). But the story would so have to be set in college.
2.Goo Hye Sun: no idea who she is

Doumyouji Tsukasa
1. Jo In Sung: Ummm, seeing that Bali is already a much darker, adult and frelled-up version of Hanadan, JIS was MADE to be Domyouji. Except for two not-so-niggling problems: (1) He is enlisting next year and (2) Too old! I suppose if they set it in last year of college, I'd buy it.
2. Kang Dong Won: He can play anyone, but once again, too old? Also, good luck trying to get him to do a drama.
3. Lee Dong Gun: Mmmmm...*drifts off* I somehow see him more as a Rui though. I don't think he could do the requisite off-kilter rage.
4. Jang Hyuk: ???????????? If I can squinch my eyes and see JIS as Domyouji, age-wise, Jang Hyuk? You are kidding! I adore him to bits, but the man is 30+ and looks it! Nothing wrong with that, he is scrumptuous, but how can he be Domyouji? Very very grad student Domyouji? LOL
5. Hyun Bin: he and JIS are most age appropriate of the bunch but once again, much more of a Rui vibe to me. Maybe it's my Snow Queen hangover, but also, his strength is quiet introspective scenes. Even in Kim Sam Soon, those were the ones he rocked, not the angry ones.

My choice: JIS! Though I could see Eric do it, if QSS was any indication of his ability to be a hot, violent jerk. Though once again, he'd be too old.

Hanazawa Rui
1. Im Joo Hwan
2. Choi Si Won
3. Jang Geun Seuk

I don't know who any of them are except JGS who is being awesome as the Prince in HGD and could probably be Rui very well. Joo Ji Hoon could be awesome but it would break my heart for him and YEH to costar and not end up together.

So, out of these? For me? YEH/JIS/JGS.

But something tells me it will be the 'I can't distinguish them' boys from SuJu or similar.

If it even happens.

In other news, just when I thought I couldn't fangirl Bae Yong Joon any harder, apparently one of the things he said while accepting some award or other for The Legend: "If the second part of TWSSG is produced, at that time I would like to express love to Sujni that I could not have done [in part 1, I presume]"

YESSSSSSS. *waves her happy DD/S shipper flag* Btw, if BYJ was 15 years younger, he'd be made to play Rui.

EEEEE!

You know that rumor I posted earlier about Korean version of Hana Yori Dango?

They are going to cast whoever they are going to cast, but what is the harm of a little fantasy casting?

So here is my ideal cast, behind the cut, with visual aides and reasons. They are all much too old btw, but hey, let’s pretend this is being made in 2002 or so :P

My next angsty kdrama?

Piano.

Piano involves a really messed-up extended family. Older Gentleman I am not interested in (Gangster) is a gangster who discovers he has a son when the kid is 10 years old (grown-up kid will be played by Go Soo). He also falls in love with Older Lady I Don't Care For Either (Old Gal). Old Gal used to be part of a happy, middle-class family, but being a kdrama person, her husband died and now she is destitute and miserable. She also has two children, a son (grown-up son will be played by Jo In Sung) and daughter (Kim Ha Neul). Gangster and Old Gal marry, bringing no joy to their three off-spring. Can you say 'quasi-incestuous love story plus angsty hot gangsters falling for single mothers the younger generation?' I knew you could.

Blame [livejournal.com profile] alexandral. According to her, and to my further research, this drama has:

1. Angst.
2. Go Soo AND Jo In Sung. Both angsting like their lives depended on it. Perhaps they did for nothing is as scary as a disappointed fangirl :P. Two really hot actors I love playing angsty woobies? I don't need anything further. However, it also has:
3. Forbidden stepsibling love (alas, not between Go Soo and JIS). Go Soo and Kim Ha Neul share the love that cannot be. Apparently, there is wrist-cutting.
4. Jo In Sung grows up angry and bitter and becomes a gangster. YES. He also falls for single mother with adorable moppet.
5. There are accidents and gruesome deaths of secondaries, but we don't care about them, do we? After all this sturm-and-drang, Jo In Sung gets a happy ending with a ready-made family. And stepsiblings get an open ending which can also result in 'inbred in name only' babies in the future potentially.

Did I mention Go Soo? And Jo In Sung? Super-intense ones? Together?

A couple of MVs )

[livejournal.com profile] lesbiassparrow, I can't believe you haven't seen this one yet. it has your name written all over it.

However, it will take a bit for me to get it. Meanwhile, once I finish Only You, since I have such a Jo In Sung craving, I will watch Shooting Star (Shoot for the Stars), costarring Jo In Sung and a Bunch of People Who Are Not Jo In Sung.

Our heroine is an older lady (29) who comes across younger guy, JIS. JIS is a dyslexic waiter and wannabe actor blah blah blah. Who cares? It's a younger guy-older woman story. And has JIS. Who does not die and get the girl! I don't really care about anything else.
