Still Bednaya Nastya
Sep. 30th, 2007 01:12 amI feel kind of bad that I've been posting mainly about Vladimir/Anna as it's only one of the storylines and couples I like.
So here is a Michael/Lisa vid (warning: it's mainly happy-kissing-makeout vid. Also, it's spoilery for stuff as at least of halfway point they don't regard each other as anything interesting yet :))
( Cute mv here )
I rather like the couple. Lisa is this awesome awesome neighbor of Vladimir's, who thought she had a thing for him. And was married off against her will to a man three times her age. She is fun, stron-willed, and intrepid. And Michael is, of course, Vladimir's best friend, and someone who thought he loved Anna and vice versa. But turns otherwise, to the happiness of everyone. I am glad as I think Lisa deserves total happiness and I really like Michael. Plus, he is kind of mild-tempered, he needs a firecracker gf like Lisa. Anna is very reserved. Two people like that would never have a spark (which is why she works well with Vladimir who has way too much fire for his own good).
( A really spoilery, hot, and quite PG13 scene )
Anyway, I did my duty, so now I am talking about Vladimir/Anna because...swoon.
OMG. Vladimir told Michael that he wants to make Anna his wife. And a happy woman. And that he doesn’t care for the fact that she was a serf or what society thinks (that latter one he definitely proved by now, in general :D)
YES.
I am amused to note that ever since Michael found out about Anna’s true ‘status,’ he completely shut up about marriage btw. Ha!
Now they are going to fight a duel. Since I want to tell Michael to shut up about every other word he says, I am afraid it is too much to hope he gets shot.
It's interesting because I can go all pop psychologist on this and do the whole: Vladimir was mean to Anna because he wanted to hide his love [heck, the cook tells Anna the same thing, about not allowing himself to show it] because he was afraid he'd be rejected because he doesn't think he is worthy of being loved. Because his own Dad didn't seem to care for him at all (boo-hoo, he sent him money once, big deal) so it would be natural for a kid to extrapolate he is unlovable and it's his fault. Hmmm.
Daddy Dearest is much nicer that he is dead now.
Oh, and I love the scene where Andrei comes to ask Vladimir for mercy re: his mother who offed V's father (he could write a petition to let her out of jail) and is all 'haven't you done horrible things out of jealousy and love' and he totally gets him to do it. Vladimir even his tears in his eyes, heeeee.
ETA: OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally got to the scene where Anna comes to his bedroom.
OMG.
I already posted a clip/thoughts/translation before but I am reposting. So there. Seriously, my fave scene. SO HOT.
( Scene/translation behind cut )
