Yes, I'll reply to all the fanfic thoughts posts. I just need to get my thinky cap on.

1. There are rumors that there will be a third season of Hana Yori Dango. I don't know what I think about it, except for amusement that Hanadan will clearly never die.

2. There is a Veronica Mars hate meme going around. You know the fandom is dying when even that is anemic.

3. When is vol 2 of Vampire Knight coming around? Ditto for more Absolute Boyfriend and Genbu Kaiden. Yes, I've read the scanlations (though I've been hoarding VK scanlations until I can binge), but it's not the same. I really want to do a list of the manga I like.

4. Ayashi No Ceres!!!! Still rocks. Aya/Toya is my shiniest OTP now (which is deja vu, as they were when I watched the anime).

5. hope_fuleigh's watch of Fushigi Yuugi is making me want a rewatch. I started with tatterpunk but then she had to leave.

6. Next manga on the list after AnC? Basara. meganbmoore finally convinced me :)

7. I started rewatching Buffy's S1 Finale yesterday. So awesome. More meta comin' up.

8. TOYA. Yes. (LOL at Watase admitting in Vol. 8 that he's her fave). Someone needs to do an AnC live action. Starring Takki as Toya (yes, he's the one I wanted for Tamahome, too. I just think he looks like a Watase bishounen). Horihita Maki can be Aya. Yamapi would actually make awesome Yuhi, but then I'd have to ship Yuhi/Aya and that can't be.

Vampire Knight.

It's like Buffy only more awesome.

Vampires. Manga. Sexy biting. I actually don't care about vampires one way or another, but this story is like all the fic I ever wanted, only better. I like Yuki, the cool, funny, laid-back heroine, who protects the school from vampires (who aren't the Buffy type monsters, but night students who sort tend to slip up now and then). And I like all the background stuff about human-vampire truce, and pureblood vamp powers and different vampire classes and hierarchies and what not. And the art is very pretty.

But.

But.

But.

That is not why I am slavering at the mouth. I have a 'she's got it bad for fictional character, the dummy' thing here. For Kiriyu Zero. And for Zero/Yuki. Yeah, my ship for this would be the equivalent of Buffy/Xander, but only if Xander was, you know, super hot, and with huge angst, and actually a vampire himself. The 'Angel' character in this one (pureblood vampire named Kaname who saved Yuki when she was little and who she is all about, breathless fangirl wise) I like OK, but doesn't grab me that much.

The thing that gets me so much is that Zero's family were vampire hunters who all got wiped out by a pure-blood vampire, Shizuka. And he's been taken in by the school headmaster and has been Yuki's best friend since and they patrol the school together. And he hates vampires more than anything. Every fibre of his being stuff. Except he knows he is slowly turning into one, because he's been bitten by Shizuka, during the massacre of his family, as the ultimate revenge. And he is fighting it as hard as he can, but he knows it's inevitable, and he knows eventually he'll really turn and soon after that he will snap and go mad and rabid and just attack everyone in sight.

And OMG, when he does turn, he actually bites Yuki, who is his best friend, and who he would totally die to protect, and then there is his trying to kill himself and her stopping him and his making her promise that when he does lose it entirely, she will kill him. And as time goes on, he totally can't be without drinking her blood (her blood is weirdly special, unexplained as of yet) and so she offers and he does it and he totally hates himself more and more for doing it every time but he hates even more that he is getting used to it, and it's the most awesome thing ever.

And it goes from there.
