I decided to do a huge Star-Wars related post listing all my previous SW posts of interest. Once upon a time, this lj was a SW-only zone. This is commemorating it.


First Stages of Obsession, or I discover Star Wars, 20+ years too late.

I (always late to the party) discovered the fun that is the galaxy far far away only this spring. Witness me go from "is this what the fuss is about?" to rabid obssession. What else is new?

I started with mocking Amidala's outfit and thinkining Ep 3 trailer looks less dumb than Ep 1 trailer. I also indicated a desire to rent Ep 2 to mock. Hah. Little did I know this is how obsession starts.

Then I saw Ep 2 for the first time and despite myself (and despite finding dialogue flaws) I professed love and analyze it to death. Heh, just you wait a few more posts, and I will love the dialogue too. The Borg is assimilating me.

Abd then, in a not-so-surprising turn of events, I finish watching Attack of the Clones and profess myself Lucas' slave. Or near it.

I see Episode 1, and even my newfound Lucas love does not make me like Jar Jar

But the Jar Jar episode is fleeting as I ponder the lessons of Star Wars (hint: don't hit on the pretty girl, she might be your sister!)

And then I incorporate Star Wars into my advice to fictional archetypes. Yup, I am a goner.



Fashions Analysis and Loving Snark

And then we hit full-on geekiness as I analyze Amidala's panoply of fashions. The snark is there, but it's now the snark of love

Ahh, I got a bit melancholy, too. And I even remember being in awe of your ROTS review. You mirrored so many of my feelings and put it in words in a way I could never have done. I really love your movie reviews.

Star Wars. *sigh* It's bittersweet - I love looking back on all this, but sometimes it still hasn't sunk in that ROTS was the last one. Ever. And so, so good. ROTS and RENT are really battling for my fangirl heart this year.

This post is bliss, however, because I can add it to my memories and have all the juicy goodness in one place!
