Yoo Seung Ho rushed to the hospital after being involved in a severe car accident

On July 29th, it was reported that actor Yoo Seung Ho was involved in a car accident on a highway while moving to the film set of his SBS drama, ‘Warrior Baek Dong Soo‘.

Yoo Seung Ho was rushed to a hospital nearby, as the severity of the crash totalled the entire car.

A representative from his agency explained, “We, too, are surprised with this news. We are currently on our way to the hospital and are also worried because it does not seem like a small accident. We will reveal more information as we find out.”

The film schedule for July 29th has been canceled. A representative for the drama said, “We are watching over the situation, but have canceled the schedule for today. We’re not sure what will happen in the future, as it depends on Yoo Seung Ho’s condition.”

From here.

Dangermousie: WTF is with the car accidents and Korean actors? That's the third one in what, a month? At least Lee Min Ho's was during a stunt so it makes a bit of sense. And also, LMH and Park Shin Hye ones didn't sound bad (not that LMH needed another horrific car crash like when he was starting out) but this one sounds awful - the car is totaled????!!! Jesus. I hope YSH is OK because this does not sound good. Do Korean drivers drive like maniacs? Are the roads horrific? Is the liveshoot schedule making managers fall asleep on the road (which is what my money is on), what? It's insane.

Yup, he's only 17.

He fractured some bones in his cheek which is painful and horrid but not lifethreatening. Seeing the car got totalled, he got very lucky.

I read another report that said he was ok enough to want to continue but thankfully was pursuaded to go to a hospital. I do hope he's ok, the crash sounded really bad even if he was able to walk away from it.

The weather has been really bad in Korea lately, massive amount of rain, so the roads are treacherous. There are people dead and missing too. Seoul's been badly flooded in places as well. It was surreal seeing pics of streets where only tops of cars were showing above water. I mean, I've been to some of those areas!

Here, this is from the other report I mentioned:

A representative of the Warrior Baek Dong Soo confirmed this through a phone call this morning with the OSEN. "Yoo Seungho was on his way to the set in Mungyeong when his car skid off the wet road and he became involved in a car accident."

He also added that "Yoo Seungho is currently undergoing further treatment, but we have yet to obtain updates."

Another representative stated that "Yoo Seungho was saying that he was alright to continue on with the usual schedule, but the TV crew urged him to get proper treatment before doing anything else."

A friend of mine lived in Korea for six months and she said that traffic lights are treated like suggestions instead of a rule that must be followed. She refused to drive there. Also, if I am remembering correctly, Simon and Martina from Eat Your Kim-chi said that when you cross the street you take your life in your own hands and you have to look both ways before crossing a one way street because again, the one way designation for the street is treated as a suggestion. CRAZY!! I can't wait to go!!!

Yeah, not surprised, especially with all the rain/huge storms that have been going on in Korea lately. IIRC, at least 50+ people have been reported either dead or missing because of all the flooding. :/ Hopefully Yoo Seungho's alright, and the weather lets up soon.

even if there are good drivers behind the wheel, I doubt they would stand a chance with the current weather in Korean, which I hear is terrible right now..So I guess it's either stay at home or drive extremely slowly , neither of which are an option with the craziness that is the liveshoot system of kdramas.....Ultimately I blame it on this system...even without the weather ppl are getting into accidents left, right and center because of hectic schedules...I wonder what it has to come to in order for things to change

Seriously, they need to change before someone gets killed!

I am also really curious about all these accidents in Korea. We aren't even putting in Daesung and the mess he has got into with cars. Hope he is alright.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with vblogger couple who live in Korea,Simon and Martina but I finally understand a little bit craziness in the kdrama driving after watching their video. They talked about that in this video http://youtu.be/cXsVIzGXAg4
