Indeed. My mind has just gone into x-rated territory.

I am so madly in love with this drama, it's not even funny. It has a surprisingly convoluted plot, is funny, and has some of the best chemistry between Eric and Han Ye Seul - every scene they are in, I expect slam-against-the-wall, clawmarks sex.

Also, I genuinely like both of them, which is a must in a romcommy drama. And oh, he's so head-over-heels for her without realizing it.

A completely unsubstantiated hypothesis time - Kang Woo is looking for these books because he wants to track down 'Goblin' who is his father or maybe someone who offed his father, and I bet that the killer was NK agents. Just because that is what I'd like.

I completely crack up at KW seeing MW everywhere, which is such a drama cliche, only that is because she really IS everywhere, to make him think of her. Bwahahahaha.

"Oh no, I have to seduce a really hot guy for my country! Woes" "Dooo it for the Motherland! While I die of repression!" (Btw, I thought it was hilarious he gets her attention by throwing a knife.

This is here for the LULZ.

He's such a dork and scared of snakes and she is so bemused by the weirdness and I adore them.

Is it hot in here, or is it just me?

The plan is for her to fake getting a cramp and drowning (hi there, Jandi!) so he'd rescue her but instead he ends up getting in trouble when trying to rescue her (awwww, he may be a bit of a coward and big-headed but he's a good guy) so she ends up saving him. Again. LOLOLOL

Seriously, Sexy Commie/Bitchy Diva please please make it happen. I will love you forever, drama! She totally needs someone to reign her in and he needs someone fun and willful. Plus, hot communist sex. Why does everyone in this drama have so much chemistry with everyone else?

She is now his bodyguard. I was never as aware of the bodyguard=guards his body, so much before. Seriously, make out already.

She's trying to flirt and is really awful at it.

Awww! I love this final scene sfm. In A hears KW has a bodyguard and there may be something between them so she shows to check it out with jealous eyes, sees MW there and MW won't let her through. KW comes there and In A assumes he's there to stand up for her and readies to slap MW, and then KW grabs In A's hand and tells her "leave MW alone." OMG, I love MW's face. Someone is falling too!

This write-up was brought up my my shallow side.

This drama is such a delight ♥! Eric had better not turn out to be some sleek spy like soompiers have speculated, I enjoy seeing the role reversals so far.

And that scheme to make him think he's seeing her everywhere? Brilliant! XD

I am sure he is not a spy. The book really must be some family thing.

They are all SO PRETTY. This episode totally brought me on board the Eric bandwagon. Although I marathoned Someday over the weekend and now Sexy Communist is getting all confused in my head with Puppy Seok-Man--I keep hoping to see Sexy Communist break into an adorable smile and was bewildered when Seok-Man didn't exhibit superior fighting skillz. And I love that Sexy Communist is amused by In Ah's fascination with him--he's just there to do his job, but he's not above poking fun at her (in his very dry I-am-not-funny-at-all way) in the meantime.

What was up with the random kids in the countryside, though? Does North Korea have kiddie spies on the payroll, or did the older agents recruit them for 5000 won and a fun afternoon, or are they truly just random interlopers? This drama is just screwball enough that whatever the answer is, it totally works.

SO GLAD I'll have this show to sustain me when City Hunter is over!

Okay, so I rewatched the episode this evening with my roommate, and I think the kids are just random interlopers. (Myung Wol doesn't think of the snake idea until she sees Kang Woo's reaction to the snake-hunting kids.) Which makes this show all the more delightful. Quick-thinking, Team Communist!

OMG please tell me you liked Someday! It's one of my favorites.

I totally want Commie/IA as a secondary couple.

I loved Someday! Although there were more than a few times that I wanted to strangle the doctor--well, okay, just about every time he showed up from the second episode to the penultimate one. Hana and Seok-Man were FANTASTIC, though. Exactly what you'd promised: two very damaged people slowly learning to love themselves and each other. I loved how Hana's cynicism gave way to a child-like wonder, and then to a deep maturity, and how Seok-Man's cheerfulness hid such pain. (I am a sucker for the manpain...) His suicide attempts were heart-breaking, and his attempt at drinking himself to death just about killed me. But it brought about his unification with Jin-Wook's family, which was one of my absolute favorite parts of the drama--I loved those two every minute they were on-screen. Seok-Man's best friend was another favorite, too. And Hye-Young was AWESOME--favorite secondary lady ever, I think. Doctor totally doesn't deserve her. >.> (He was about the only character I really didn't like. Even Auntie was only annoying. But Doctor treated Hana like a toy and Seok-Man like dirt, and I kind of wanted him to get hit by a truck. Only that would upset Hye-Young...)

I'm pretty sure this is one I'm going to be watching again. :) Thank you!

And yes--I'm completely onboard with Commie/IA. He's just about the only guy I think could actually put up with her--she seems to really amuse him, for some reason--and she's completely fascinated with him and trying hard to hide it. So cute. Also, it will help him get over losing Myung-Wol. >.>

Yeah, the doctor drove me nuts - he treated everyone like puppets and his attempts to insert himself into Hana's life (wtf was with that proposal?) drove me nuts. Luckily, Hana never let anyone hijack agency from her.

I know, I was so shocked with SM, when it came out just what a mess he was, but it made total sense - it's one of those dramas where you see that the heroine is screwed-up from the get go and wonder how the hero is copying with his horrible past so well and then you realize he's even more screwed up than she is. Poor guy. When he feels guilty he wants to live, it killed me. I also actually liked the time-jump at the end, because they both needed time alone to get mentally healthy, especially SM who, if he hooked up with Hana in e.g. ep 9, would have just replaced living for dead kid's family with living for Hana and that is really not healthy - you are supposed to live above all for your own sake and value herself.

Btw, I have no idea if you ever want to check out non-kdramas, but there is a twdrama, Mars, which was my first drama, actually, which also has 'screwed up heroine, even more screwed-up hero make each other better' premise. It doesn't have production values like kdramas do, but it's really really good! It's based on a manga I like and is what got me into dramas. They are both college students - she is an artist who doesn't talk to anyone and walks hunched in wearing shapeless clothes and hoping nobody will talk to her that day. He's an outgoing, devil-may-care male slut whose goal is to become a motorcycle racer, whose manner covers a past just as messed up as hers. He makes her feel loved and clean and she saves him from feeling like a monster. I wrote way too much meta on it and became more obsessed than I thought was possible. As I said, it was my gateway drug but all these years later, I still adore it. Have a MV because it gives a flavor of it:

I can provide more synopsis/spoilers.

Yeah, Commie is so amused by her - their relationship would be so interesting! I don't really see him giving up motherland though (I can see MW doing so, she is a lot more innocent).

Oh yes, the time-jump really made the relationship work for me--of course I wanted them to get together earlier (there was lots of shouting at the screen) but it would have been so messed up. They both needed time apart to heal and to affirm who they are and what they want. Seok-Man's backpacking trip was the best possible thing he could have done--distancing himself from Jin-Wook's family, too, so he wasn't living totally for them either. (I adore that they pretty much adopted him, but I'm glad they were able to see him for him, and not just a replacement for their dead son, and I think eventually he was able to see himself that way too.)

Though I totally could have done with a kiss at the end, when he came back, but the whole scene was so sweet and heartwarming that I forgive them for it.

Haha, this is awesome, because my roommates watched Mars years ago, and I was all aloof and uninterested and mildly sarcastic at what they told me of the crazycrazy plot. Now it sounds like something I'd adore. (I have a bad habit of only checking into things a year or so after someone tells me about them--I did the same thing with Avatar: The Last Airbender and Coffee Prince--and then kicking myself for all the wasted time.)

It looks like there is much more kissing than the kdramas I've been watching lately, which is all to the good. >.> I do really love the chasteness of most kdramas, but after a while you just end up shouting at them Make out already! So I will really have to check this one out. ;)

To be honest I have no idea how things are going to sort themselves out in Myung-Wol the Spy--this world is just off-kilter enough that it's entirely unpredictable. I agree with you that Commie is much less likely to defect. And it's awfully weird to be rooting for something that is on a meta-level so completely disturbing, but they're all so fun and sweet (and NK of the drama is so bumbling and almost harmless) that I'm hoping against hope that it won't go all doomful later.

myasiancinema.com has all of Mars :)

Yup, twdramas go a lot more into kissing and even sex scenes than kdramas ever manage to. See e.g. Knock Knock Loving You make out scene:

teeheeheehee. I love your recaps. :p

KW and MW are so adorable together but the one I want to jump is Sexy Commie. Every time he's on screen my brain just goes he's-so-hot-he's-so-hot *repeats as necessary. I'm looking forward to see him get together with In Ah too! I love his expression when he looks on as In Ah throws yet another bitch fit ... it's like, girl, you have no idea.

Thank you :)

Sexy Commie is played by Lee Jin Wook, who I've had a crush on for years, so I totally understand how you feel. (For a really different role for him, check out Someday).

Yup, he's completely amused by IA which is hilarious to me.

Ah so you watched episode 3! Have you started episode 4 yet?

I LOVED the serpent scenes. KW was so funny and MY so cute in her pretty white dress. lol at the mention of Jandi! The water here was even shallower than when Jandi was having her cramp. And considering that Jandi was having her cramp in what looked like a very shallow puddle, that's saying something!

BTW, how can Eric look so cool while rocking pink shoes and a blue-stripped jacket? That man isn't human. He must belong to the same species than LMH who even knows how to look sexy in pink PANTS.

I am about to, if Baby Mousie lets me :)

Yup, I love how she was supposed to pretend helplessness but ended up saving him once again.

Eric - yup, he's wearing terrifying clothes but somehow still manly and hot. A miracle.
