Years ago, I read this lady's unintentionally hilarious Christian romance about an heiress being redeemed by a football player's Christian love, written in the 1930s.

I always wanted to come across another gem of hers. Behold "The Witness."

That's kind of an usual theme for a romance writer to be obsessed with. Even in the 1930s. Weren't they all about exotic (for them) Russians and such?

The timing on this is funny as I just finished a reread of 'The Enchanted Barn", one of her few novels where the damsel in distress actually keeps her wits about her and doesn't swoon until after she is rescued. I just constantly skim the preachy parts. Constantly...
