Heartstrings for those in North America
Jul. 1st, 2011 01:02 pmFor those of you who are in NA, can't get around viki restrictions and can't find downloadable subs/don't like to download, dramafever has just posted the first episode. I would imagine this will be the proper allowed lag, i.e. getting the eps 2 days after thet air, which is not bad at all (I believe Chuno had the same 2-day lag on viki).
I cannot comment whether Heartstrings is worth the effort to find as, due to City Hunter fever, I have yet to watch it, something I plan to remedy this weekend. I do think I will like it - the PD did Worlds Within, my favorite kdrama of all time, and Heartstrings' look and feel remind me of WW. Plus, whatever merit or lack thereof Jung Yonghwa has in acting, he more than remedies through his fierce, natural chemistry with Park Shin Hye. Add in the fact that I adore all four main actors and the type of story, and I am quite hopeful.
Plus, I am ridiculously excited that in this one, they are going to let the actual musician sing. I was always bemused that the idol group in YAB had two "proper" singers (both of whom are damn good!) but almost all the singing went to the amateurs :) I love Jang Geun Seok's singing, I do. Ditto for Park Shin Hye. But they understandably can't compare with the pipes on Jung Yong Hwa or Lee Hongki.

Date: 2011-07-01 05:10 pm (UTC)But I think I'll wait another couple of weeks before starting it... I mean, I'm completely addicted to "Can You Hear My Heart" and "City Hunter". It's enough for now!

Date: 2011-07-01 07:59 pm (UTC)I have to say I love the music. And the fact that the band Stupid is all real musicians who play their instruments. Kyu Won's gukak group also consists mostly of musicians, I think they are part of a real group.
Yong Hwa still has a long way to becoming a real thespian (his delivery especially needs work) but I have to say he is better than KHJ in PK. He's improved quite bit since YaB but that's a given as with YaB he was a total noob (not just in acting either) and basically got thrown in the deep end and told to swim. The ending song in ep2 was Yong Hwa's work btw. Kid's talented allright....
