I continue to have zero interest in Lady Vet but I did love when she found him in her clinic and matter-of-factly stitched him up, without asking him any questions (as he was so terrified she would - what a horrible life he lives when he has to hide in a vet clinic like an animal himself). Plus, the irony, within kdrama stereotypes, of heroine hurting him and secondary girl fixing him. And of course, Undaddy on the phone is all raging about him not killing an agent but, let's face it, even if it wasn't Nana, he is not Undaddy, he will not kill an innocent. He doesn't even want to kill the bad guys. If he is that good brought up by the psycho vengeance-driven drug lord, I wonder how well-adjusted and wonderful he would have been, if he was left to grow up with his mother.

And, of course, Nana is horrified that she shot another person (if only she knew who it was!!!) but it's Yoon Sung's nightmare which gets me, with the dychotomy with Undaddy. For the record, it makes me perversely hopeful about the ending - they wouldn't have 'given it away' early.

Nana is so jealous he spent the night out (and seeing him with Lady Vet in the morning). I only she knew!

The scene on the shooting range was so creepy - it's as if everyone is being trained to shoot at him and as if she's shooting at him again.

Stop grabbing YS' shoulder, everyone! Yes, that means you, Prosecutor! Before I go medieval on you (my investment in YS is kinda unhealthy at this point, I am sure you figured out)..
That goes double for Undaddy who slaps him and repeatedly hits his wound. WTF!!! Oh, how I want you to die, monster! YS says he still wants in for the revenge because these people killed his father, but I am pretty sure he only wants to stay in to make sure Undaddy doesn't go on a killing spree. Also, Undaddy's chilling unconcern for the lives of innocents in his way - ugh.

The whole sequence where he takes her in his car to cheer her up (and earlier she thought he was insensitive but he was just so relieved he is out of harm's way) and they get caught in the rain and go to his apartment and the way he looks at her when he sees her just in his shirt (which is large enough on her to almost be a dress) - worshipful and stunned (how can she not realize what he feels) - oh my God. Their chemistry is insane. And I love how there is so much tenderness in him...

And of course, the phone rings and interrupts (I thought I was going to die) and how symbolic - it's Undaddy.

Lee Min Ho is so gorgeously masculine and this ep, what with him running around pale and wounded (with added necessitated shirtlessness) really amps that quality up to 11. Nana has a hell of self-control, I'd have been jumping him like a wild hyena. Also, I love that in this drama, wounds stay, they don't go away asap.

Oh no, of course he runs to rescue Nana (though honestly, I can't see him letting an innocent, even a stranger, drop to their death). I am not worried about them surviving (duh!) but I am terrified that Undaddy has seen. I have a dreadful feeling about this. Also, Prosecutor, go DIAF. You supposedly owe Nana but you just let her drop to her death because you need to catch the bad guy? I can see why your ex dumped you).

I am beyond obsessed with this drama.

OMG! THAT NIGHTMARE!!!

I am hoping with all my heart that it is not a premonition, but knowing how Korean dramas work it probably is.

I don't know, for some reason the nightmare reassured me - it didn't seem to be a foreshadowing. But who knows.

I like Lady Vet for what she currently is, someone on the sides who is not thankfully part of a love triangle but is involved and helpful when necessary.

As for Prosecutor, I hope the little exchange between him and YS right before they both bolt towards bad guy/Nana respectively is because he knows who the City Hunter is after their skirmish on the stairwell and knows Nana will be saved. There was a bit of "I got this, you save the girl" in that look. We'll see.

I don't know, I think Prosecutor gets caught up in the chase and doesn't think.

Gah, I swaer I wouldnt't have watched this drama if it weren't for your picspams.... I downloaded all 6 episodes of it, and watched it almost all in one go. Now it's my favorite drama of the season, thank you very very much! ;D LOL

It just delivers everything I'd like to see, and it's been such a long time since I watched a drama like this... Now I have to wait until every episode airs... omg. I'd like to wait until it finished so I can enjoy it more watching all in one go, but I don't think I can wait.

I will try, though. Meanwhile I'll keep myself entertained with New Tales of Gisaeng. It gets better and better with each episode. But my OTP is no more.. :( I shipped Grandpa/Grandma. They were so cute!

Gisaeng is lovely, agreed.

Nothing compares to my CH obsession. I thought it was going to be horrible but so far it's by miles and miles my fave drama this year, with my fave OTP.

Oh this ep is my favourite so far! YS how I love you. I was holding my breath all through the ending sequence, gah, I can't wait for the next ep. What will Undaddy do, will she find out his identity, how will they get out of this etc etc.

I didn't mind Prosecutor dude before, but in this ep he really irks me - not just in the ending scene but the entire time. There's something a tad vicious about his righteousness that rubs me the wrong way.

And seriously, OTP of the year ♥!

The Prosecutor just doesn't care about his people - for all his horrible upbringing, YS puts people first and Prosecutor doesn't - starkly demonstrated in this ep's ending, but also before with his ex.

I really want her to find out his identity so she can take care of him, but Undaddy freaks me out.

OMG, yes! How can anyone not be obsesseed with this drama? The ratings are decent but Best Love is miles ahead. But it wraps up next week IIRC so after that I'm expecting CH to do better. The angst has really started now and the cliffhangers are pure torture. Of course I know that at this point in the drama none of the leads will die when they're in dangerous situations but I just want to see what happens next asap.

I used to find Sexy Prosecutor seriously hot before but now he's starting to get on my nerves. He's all pissed that there's a man interested in his ex-wife but he doesn't have a problem with always leaving her alone like a fool, only seeking her out when he feels a bit down? And is it me or is he really kind of ruthless? I didn't expect him to be this rough or skilled at fighting. Granted YS is wounded, but he still had trouble getting rid of him in the staircase fight.

He's really starting to get unlikable. I'm pretty sure he didn't even think of Nana when he went rushing off at the end of the episode. When he sees her next he'll be properly grateful that she's alive but he's not emotionally invested enough to think of her above a fleeing suspect. And I hope she'll act a bit cooler around him as well. I know she's all about duty but knowing you were left to die by the representative of the legal authorities can't be pleasant all the same.

About the glance he and YS share, I interpreted it at them thinking "Who's gonna get there first?". Only YJ was thinking of the corrupt politician and YS was thinking about Nana.

And I'm pretty sure UnDaddy saw it all. Saw how YS rushed to save the bodyguard instead of going after the target and callously leaving her to fall as so much smallfry. There's also something about Nana losing an earring at YS's place. If they have Undaddy find it (as opposed to have YS find it and keep it as a romantic gesture), he'll be putting 2 and 2 together pretty soon about YS's feelings for Nana. More angst for us.

I might be in the minority but I don't want Nana to find out about YS's alias as the City Hunter too soon. I'm enjoying the Clark Kent/Lois Lane dynamic too much and I love the conflict it provides. There's 20 episodes and we're not yet halfway into the drama so we've got time.

BL never emotionally hooked me which means it was a loss to me, but I know romcoms always do well, so hopefully CH will get a deserved first place after next week.

Yes, in the last couple of eps, I had it up to here with Prosecutor - he was a horrible husband, and in ep 8 he was willing to let Nana die to get to his goal. He has a lot more in common with Undaddy than either man realizes. YS has this deeply-ingrained humanity in him which even Undaddy's brutal upbringing was never able to eradicate (I honestly believe he would have gone to rescue the bodyguard even if it wasn't Nana but let's say Eunah or one of the other Blue House bodyguards) but Prosecutor is all about goal and forget the human collateral damage. (Undaddy's dismissal of killing an innocent bodyguard as worth it because 20 yrs ago bad guys offed 20 Koreans is insane and shows how unselfreflective he is - doesn't he realize it makes him the same as the bad guys?)

I cannot wait for YS and his mother to reunite properly, though I am sure Undaddy will try to keep it from happening because the second YS finds out the truth, he will be done with Undaddy.

Yes, that is making me worry like mad. I didn't even think of his finding the earring btw, which is more likely than YS' keepsake scenario (because he lives with her, he's surrounded by her stuff, why would a keepsake be that significant?) Oh God. I don't want YS to have to push Nana away to protect her because it will mess him up so horribly and hurt Nana too.

See, I want Nana to find out his identity asap so she can coo over his wounds and we can get to the comfort part of the whole hurt/comfort part. I mean, I'd rather she took care of his nasty and inflamed wound before he got sepsis and not Lady Vet :)

YS was so very vulnerable this ep, it killed me.

I don't want YS to have to push Nana away to protect her because it will mess him up so horribly and hurt Nana too.

This is giving me ideas. What if he does have to push her away and chooses lady Vet as a cover? I mean, she would be perfect. Nana already thinks they're togheter and she's kind of in on his secret. She also seems to enjoy riling up her ex with her passive agressive attitude (you go girl, He treated you like you were nothing and didn't deserve you).

I'd bleed for Nana but I'm sure the writers would make YS suffer as well by maybe witnessing some more closeness between Nana and the Prosecutor (although they'll have to work hard to make me like him again after his stunt in ep 8). I'm all for some more YS angst.

I agree that YS would have saved any person that went over the rail. He's a very decent person. He's a character we can admire and respect ( plus he's hot and cool, which doesn't hurt). Perversely, that almost makes me want him to do something for Nana that he wouldn't do for anyone else, something that would shake him a bit. Almost.

Did you ever imagine a team Undaddy + Prosecutor as his son? Now, that's someone he could make into a ruthless killing machine IMO.

Re-hurt comfort.....I wondered if I'd imagined that his wound wasn't healing the way it should. It actually could be the way Nana will find out he's the CH: him collapsing, or delirious with fever at night and she finding the wound and putting two and two together. It'd be a little too early for my taste but I wouldn't say no to the hot scene that's sure to follow.

Re-YS as vulnerable, yeah, it killed me too. And it also surprised me. I wasn't expecting to see so much vulnerability from him so early in the drama. I like that the drama is both predictable (Nana being put back on duty could be seen from miles away for exemple) and surprising. Keeps me on my toes.

Yes, I was thinking of Lady Vet as a way to push her away too. I guess he could do it with Pres daughter too, but nobody would believe his sudden change of heart after treating her as a kid, and also, annoying as I find her, she's an innocent.

Undaddy should have kidnapped Prosecutor. The guy would have loved to cut his swath through people he viewed as bad, collateral damage be damned.

I do think YS is already doing a lot for Nana he wouldn't be for anyone else - he might have shot to wound back in ep 7 (he's a deadly shot) if she wasn't Nana. I guess her father could have been somehow involved in the murder in 1983 and he'd give up revenge on him or something, but that's far-fetched and plus I'd like Nana to remain an untainted thing in his life.

Yeah, I am no doctor, but that wound doesn't look good. And all the exertion on it cannot be good for it either. So I'd love for your scenario to happen, though I agree, it's a bit early. Though what do I know - it could just be makeup team being overzealous and he's healing just fine :P

Yeah, the Brat wouldn't be a believable love interest. Everybody would know he wasn't serious about it. Plus I don't think he'd mess around with his " boss' " daughter.

Undaddy + Prosecutor = Deadly Emotionless Duo

Yeah, I agree he's been doing a lot for Nana already. But that didn't cost him much before the shooting incident. That really threw him. Btw, did he even have a gun with him at that time? I didn't see one but I guess he could have had one on his person somewhere.

I would also like the idea of Nana being an untainted thing in his life but I don't think the writers are going that route. Nana isn't portrayed as 100% pure: she has feelings of hate for Prosecutor's dad and she wants justice/revenge for her father. I saw someone speculating on Soompi that she might actually decide to join the "Let's get revenge Team". I don't think it will come to that (she's too decent and honorable a person) but she's not an angel either. But in the promo poster you posted recently she's clearly pictured as a kind of Angel/Divine being sent to save YS from perdition. So I don't know. We'll have to see.

And I'm getting worried that Nana might kick the bucket at the end. I'm 99% sure that YS won't die because the drama has been described as a kind of prequel, a sort of "Origin story" for the manga City Hunter, and he would need to be alive at the end of the drama. But killing his OTP thus giving him even more incentive to catch criminals in the future sounds like something that could happen in a K-drama.

*Crossing fingers. It won't happen. It won't happen. It won't happen. Please drama gods, give me a HEA*.

On the other end, an open ending à la A Man Called God would kind of piss me off as well.

New episode tomorrow! Can't wait.

It's nice that the writer got his/her urge to write a tragic ending in episode 8 during a dream sequence rather then showing it in the final episode, in the drama's reality.

EEEEeeeeeekkk!!Thanks for another lovely recap! I was waiting for this :) Oh, how I loved this episode!Guh!Everything was pitch perfect: the angst, the romance, the action, even the cliffhanger of HELL! I need my dose of City Hunter.. How long till Wednesday?:( ALso, Lee Min Ho, I never used to consider him hot, but my opinion may have changed somehow after this drama. What I knew already was that I really liked his acting and thus far I am loving his portrait of YS.

I think that episodes 7 and 8 have been my favourites till now. The chemestry between NaNa and him is off the screen (Btw, Please, Nana get a clue already, I need to see you being the one all concerned about his wounds and stuff. Also, the kiss? Is loooooooooong overdue. If this is about money I'll send you some so you can pay the contract fee, no worries). The vet-chick was awesome in this episode, btw. I like her being his nurse for the time being. Prosecutor is an ass. Dude, get a vacation already. You need to disconnect from work a little and worry aboout your private life which is a mess. Undaddy..just, arrg. I hope you redeem yourself at last saving YS or something 'cause you're getting on my nerves really bad. That's about it.

In conclussion, SHOW= my crack. Lee Min Ho= I approve of you being shirtlesness to your heart's content. Also, I may or may not have a thing about your back. Just 'cause, you know, it seems to never end. Nana & YS= OTP that rules all other OTPs.

I am completely amazed at how well CH balances all these genres at once. That's a huge feat.

Yes, the poor guy was wandering around all pale and wounded and feeling like hell - I want to get to the comfort part of the whole 'hurt/comfort' scenario, pls.

I want Undaddy to die. And then Nana and YS to make out.

It's not LMH's back that never ends, it's his legs :P

This is not because someone is obesseded with a drama that it means it is good. I remember BOF or DH are masterpieces. I have many reasons to think that this show is bad. First as an adaptation this is a big failure. Hate it or love it but it will always be compared to the manga it is based on. Lee is a reminiscence of his previous characters except he uses guns here and Park min young is not better. I can't take them seriously too juvenile for my liking. This is not "dream High". Besides I still think that "the vengance of the hero" is the last thing to use as a plot for an adaptation of "city hunter". As an "independent" drama -now they use the excuse of don't-think-this-an-adaptation or this-is-a-prequel thing- this show has too much plot holes, nonsenses, slow motions ect... to make me connect with the characters. As BOF this is pretty to look at but nothing more.

okay, that nightmare? that's the stupid ending of "1 Million Stars Falling from the Sky." I will hurl some damages if CH goes down that road.

And that almost-kiss? Really, show? I thought you were going to spare us that. I mean, they totally acknowledged their feelings. There was no point in interrupting it. It's not like, "oh, I wanna kiss u but I'm still in denial/this is not the time/are we going too fast?" ARGH

I'm also unhealthily obsessed with CH/LMH. Kick-ass crime-fighting hero with a sexy penchant for flirting with his OTP? Count me in.

Oh, and actually, I think there was a sort of silent understanding between YS and Prosecutor. They glanced at each other before sprinting out, like "you get the girl, I'll get the politician." I really think the Prosecutor knows CH is YS now and could trust him to get Nana. Cuz CH stopped dead in his track when Nana was being held hostage so that gives it away he cares for her life. Plus, why would Prosecutor sprint after the politician and not handcuff CH? CH is more elusive, don't you think? The other guy is a high-profile person who is a lot easier to track down later. Therefore I'm sensing a partnership between these two!

it's the ending to a bunch of other shows (not to spoil anyone here, but I'm a fan of the revenge genre, so I've seen more than a few). I can think of at least 2 where it ends with the protagonist and antagonist dead next to each other as the camera pulls away.

Million Stars is even odder, what with the incest and all. Bad Guy ws setting up to be Million Stars right before it fell in to the giant vat of WTH-ery. Yes, I'm still bitter.

*____* I just love City Hunter so much. These past two episodes have been absolutely amazing. Also, I loved how the whole thing is filmed; all this gorgeous cinematography that reminds me more of a movie than your typical drama- all the moving angles and tight close ups on their subtle expressions: I don't think I breathed at all during that scene where he almost kisses her. :D It was like I was intruding or at the very least being a far too enthusiastic voyeur.
