Miri is chased by her pimp, who tracked her down, and Yoohyun intervenes, in order to protect her, without knowing what is going on.
I loved everything about it - how fluidly it was shot; how, once again, it was Yoohyun who saw Miri being her real self; how he ran after her to protect her without even knowing what was going on, without any hesitation and even with her rejecting him last time. And I loved that he comforted her afterwards. And how as soon as she recovered, her barriers went doubly up because she showed her vulnerability and she rejected him yet again (it kills me that he doesn't hold it against her) and he just watches her, but doesn't come near because that is not what she'd want.
I cannot wait for her to find out he spoke the truth when he said he was a chaebol and, of course, go after him - I cannot wait for her to use him (and possibly pit him against Myung Hoon because is there any doubt Miri will try to use them both at the same time) and then end up falling for him because he's somehow good at scaling her walls. Plus, ep 3 showed that despite the fact that he's genuinely kind, he's both a lot more complex and more steely than he appears so I am sure he could cope.

Oh, Myung Hoon, you are a smart man! You are old enough to be her father, you are her boss, and you know she is both desperate and ambitious. Do you really think she's exploring your tonsils because your sexiness is irresistible? Please use your head. The one that's on top.
This ep, oddly, made me love Myung Hoon and feel terribly sorry for what Miri is doing to him.

And because Miss Ripley is reminding me (and everyone else) a lot of Carmen (they even use some of Carmen's musical cues), I have been rewatching the 1980s movie version of the opera. Have the final scene from that amazing opera. I suppose, Miri = Carmen, Myung Hoon = Don Jose, Toreador = Yoohyun. I would not be surprised if it ended thus:
MyungRi or YuRi?

Both guys are doomed.

Date: 2011-06-10 02:30 am (UTC)I just think Myung Hoon having had this dormant heart for quite a long time, lacking in passion and everything...and then suddenly coming "alive" with Miri, I don't think he is going to take it too well once he learns of her betrayal...and add Yoo Hyun to the mix, I think the guy will be like a soda bottle shook and dropped waaay too much. I see him being Don Jose, for serious. It is scary how calm he can be...I mean his wife told him that his mom can drop dead...he still managed to be civil with her. The dude is bound to break and Miri may be playing with real dangerous fire here.
And I loved the subway scene. I love love love how he told her it is over. I love how he watches her from afar. I love how the theme song plays when they are together. I love how I am getting myself in a painful, unhealthy investment by shipping these two.
