Fatsuits - how about NEVER????
Jun. 7th, 2011 10:51 pmDo you know what jdrama Rebound and kdramas Dream High, Get Karl, and Romance Town have in common?
Horrifying, ridiculous, idiotic fatsuits (Rebound is by far the worst offender as it uses them the most but the worst fatsuits belong to Romance Town and Get Karl).
OK, I get it, in Asia, as in a lot of the world, fat is scary scary scary and horrible.
STILL. Do you know what overweight people look like? People that shop at Dress Barn Woman or are euphemistically described as curvy if they are ladies on dating sites?
They look like a 'normal weight' person, only with more weight on their bones - proportional, often attractive (and sometimes not - just as thin people are sometimes not attractive), who move normally. What those fatsuits create are not overweight people, not even obese people. The only people who look like the fatsuit ones are the beyond morbidly obese ones who cannot literally leave the house due to their weight. I am pretty sure the dramas aren't intending their fatsuiters to be that incredibly narrow subset, seeing that they have them mobile (naturally, they waddle around the streets, looking like rubberized monsters, wearing horrifying clothes and suffering haircuts hitherto unknown to man).
I have no personal dog in this fight - I am not overweight - but seriously, that is beyond ridiculous on believability level. I cannot ever take a drama with a fatsuit seriously. Stop it, dramas!

By their definition, all overweight people are hideous and act like morons. Did you notice that "fat people" in dramas also act ridiculously childish? There's not a single one acting like a normal person.
Rebound is particularly irritanting!
