I am sure everyone who's interested has heard by now they are making a live-action version of Ouran High School Host Club. My expectations are not high. I adore the anime and the manga, but jdrama adaptations of manga rarely work for me (Hanadan being a big honking exception, rather than the norm). Twdramas, otoh...

I will definitely check it out though. At least the guy they picked for Tamaki looks Tamaki-ish (also like Angelina Jolie, but that is by the by)





I am going to find other cast pics (I was lazy - this was the only one posted on d-addicts). Hopefully they got Haruhi right too.

Oh, and I am not posting much about it because it's not too meta-able, but I am quietly watching Muscle Girl and continuing to enjoy it. It's such a low maintenance, sweet drama. Plus, the OTP is adorable!

Yup, it's him allright. FT Island spent almost a year in Japan. They just made their comeback to Korean ent scene last week.

Most serious k-popsters can speak Japanese these days. It's sort of a requirement.

Omg Ouran High School Host Club live action!! Actually this is my first time hearing about it and I think they choose the right person for Tamaki. I'm not all that excited for the adaptation because Wallflower was not well done at all so I'm a bit worried to see what they would do with Ouran. The casting for the show looks pretty spot on though I must say.

They are also going to reboot Hana Kimi. btw, does Hongki speak Japanese in Muscle Girl? 'Cause I can't stand a character speaking one language, while another speaks another... while they both seem to understand each other. For example, Spring Waltz.

Jdramas need to leave HK the heck alone. The first adaptation (I use the term loosely) was awful enough.

aww i've liked many a jadama adaptation. like hotaru no hikari, nodame, kimi wa petto, mei-chan no shitsuji (okay that was admittedly odd but my best friend was so obsessed with it i got influenced).
i strangely am not a huge fan of ouran though. liked it, but didn't love it.
hmm... should i watch hongki's drama? so tempted... but i've got so little time.

i found them a lot more tolerable than most twdrama adaptations, which i think are even more caricature-like, and in a bad way. to each her own i guess.

Yamamoto Yusuke! =D I think he'll do a wonderful job, I loved him on Kamen Rider Kabuto and his character was very similar to Tamaki.

I adore the manga for Ouran so I am giddy excited and hoping for the best with the drama. Please be good! Or at least decent! And let me buy the chemistry! (the hanakimi live-action was such a let down when it came to the otp chemistry)

oh dear. i absolutely love ouran to bits and pieces and it has some awesome, out-of-this-world-did-they-actual-say-that dialogue, so i'm pretty scared that this will be translated really poorly...(how will they be able to cast the utterly perfect twins?!)

Yamamoto Yusuke is Tamaki?!!! I loved him in that...thing with all the siblings and Maki and I know he's in ParaKiss as Yukari's crush and the ex friend of the punk duo. Exciting! I was all whatever for the jdrama but I'm in it for the first few eppys just for him!
