I just read spoiler for ep 28 of Gisaeng
Apr. 24th, 2011 02:17 pmand argh!!!!!! Saran WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, Saran, I don't care if you accept Damo or not (well, I do, I am a shipper, but I can see the pluses and minuses of each situation*) but WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am I the only one who thinks deciding to sell/give your virginity to another dude so Damo would finally ditch is INSANE?????? That's not from a shipper point - it's from WTF are you doing to your sanity and well-being point? There are a lot of reasons to sleep with a guy - love, lust, economic desperation - but (especially for someone as traditional and deep-feeling as Saran) to drive away a guy you are attracted to but afraid to get involved with again, is not one of them. WTF!!!!!!!
* Honestly, if you look at it objectively, to take the risk and accept Damo's proposal is a rational choice - love or not, it's a lot better to be Mrs attentive attractive rich guy that to dance, sing, and get drunk with sloshed and horny guys for money (it's two steps up from a hooker, seriously). Plus, talk about a dead-end short career - who's going to hire a former gisaeng for anything much and I severely doubt there is much call for a 50-yr-old drinking girl hostess. But of course, Saran is not being rational because she still has feelings and hurt, but also because she's incredibly risk-averse - as long as her fate is bearable, even if horrid, she'd rather stay with it as long as it's certain than risk to get a better one (unlike Damo, who has a gambler's streak). Yeah, sure, he can cool off or his parents can somehow end it or whatever. But the reward of being Mrs Richy-Rich is worth the risk to a rational actor. But of course Saran is not one.

On the other hand, if after she does all this and Damo is still hanging around her, maybe she'll finally believe in him again? As it is right now, she'll definitely win over his mother with her determination.

Ummm, if he still wants her after she sold her virginity to another guy in front of his eyes, she may believe him finally but (a) there is no way will she ever feel it's right to be Mrs Damo after that and (b) even if they somehow hooked up, that most likely is going to wreck their marriage. I mean, it's one thing if she wasn't a virgin when they met or even if she lost it in a questionable occupation like being a gisaeng before they met. But if she's doing it when he's around, madly in love with her, and offering marriage - yeah, that's a hell of a thing. Damo is pretty traditional buteven a prety untraditional guy would find it hard to deal with, long-term.
Ehhh, it's a family drama, I am pretty sure she isn't devirginized any time soon.
