dangermousieI was browsing my JPLH eps (because I wanted some Eight/QC - am on ep 17 and they haven't had any interactions in 4 eps. Boo). And look what I found!
They did the whole Junpei arc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!

I was literally making high-pitched, insane noises throughout the entire scene. Not as good as this take on the scene in MG but still pretty darn amazing.
MMMMMM. ILY, drama.
How come the maker of this, who's only borrowing Hanadan scenes for the OTP, made a better and a more faithful in spirit Hanadan adaptation then whoever was the unfortunate who made BOF kdrama and all the latter had to do was to straightforwardly transfer the manga to the screen. He/she even had previous excellent Taiwanese and Japanese drama adaptations as a guide, and still managed to screw up.

Date: 2011-03-22 07:37 pm (UTC)1. In drama, JP and Jandi were a doting couple by that point. Of course a bf should come to the rescue of his loving gf. What I always loved about the manga (and what jplh kept, along with twdrama and jdrama) is that in the manga they were not an item at the time - in fact, she said some unforgivable stuff to him right before kidnapping and was sure he wouldn't come but he came anyway, even though she pretty much just trampled on his heart with hobnailed boots.
2 The whole essense of that scene to me is the exchange - D basically allows them to beat him, possibly to death, without resisting, so they wouldn't harm M. Every version had no problem keeping this basic aspect except for bof - they didn't even offer the exchange to him.
Then there is the fact that they used this to have Jandi can't swim now storyline which I hated for how it was handled.

They then twisted his character into that of a historical general and he gradually went totally power-hungry. Sigh. And he was so cute before (albeit not the brightest crayon in the box).
