Yeah, judgmental 'best friend', why don't you go die in a fire? Seriously, you see the lady you consider your best friend being mauled by a guy and automatically assume she's committing adultery and won't listen to her explanations and decide she's the worst evilest blah blah blah.

First, even if she has been, she's your friend! She comes first, ahead of some man you barely know. Second, listen to her freaking explanation, witch! And then she tells it to childhood love so of course he misunderstands. Ugh, witch. And childhood love goes and tells heroine how disappointed and ashamed he is in her blah blah he's not her friend any more and that now he can't blame her husband for beating her. Ugh, prig, go die! How about you trust her or listen to her explanation or stop freaking judging her? You and former best friend deserve each other - go hook up and preach at each other noon and night. Yeah, and then they learn the truth and are very sorry and are also so sorry she was so depressed and abandoned by her friends she tried to kill herself. Whatever, freaks, I hope you roast in hell. I am glad you never get her, childhood love, because you suck! And her best friend sucks worse! I love watching her pine for childhood love who is only fixated on Lanyun.

And then childhood love promises to get her a divorce and marry her (rapist has been disposed of by that point) but when her disgusting husband, who beat her and let her get raped, was all "but I loooove her, can I have her?" he just bailed. Ugh, first love, you really suck. There are no words for your sucktitude.

Oh God, I basically hate everyone in this drama except for heroine and Playboy, who asked her to marry him, again (because he assumed she turned him down earlier due to not wanting to deal with rapist's potential rampage and now the man is gone), got his heart crushed to bits when she told him she loved someone else, and took it like a man, wishing her a happy life and leaving her the hell alone, like she wanted.

Also, seriously, whoever made this has some sort of a whipping fetish. Heroine has already been whipped twice and from vids, Playboy gets whipped at some point too. At least they keep their clothes on? That's a small mercy?

Man, this is written by someone with issues. Honestly, I am enjoying this but all that unending heaping of misery on heroine has basically made me detach and numb for my own self-preservation because it's so over-the-top. I mean, past a certain point, it just makes you suspend disbelief that the character isn't just sitting in the corner rocking back and forth and banging her head on the wall (same reaction I got with Ou Chen in Summer Desire - past a certain point you just can't believe a character will go on being functional). I understand that they have to make her married life hell to justify her committing adultery (even emotional adultery) due to societal mores deciding what is acceptable for the heroine and what is not but still - tone it down.

I am glad the rapist has got punished though and became an imbecile. OK, that sentence basically encapsulates the awesome, glorious, addictive awfulness of this drama. Now I know how [livejournal.com profile] lesbiassparrow felt when she watched Stairway to Heaven - I feel dirty yet I cannot stop.

Have a MV:

LOL.

I intersperse it with other stuff and don't watch more than two eps a day for my own sanity.

I can't believe the person who made this also made Jade Palace Lock Heart, which is fairly light-hearted, is not swimming in fetishes, and actually is something I consider fairly good and not an entertaining trainwreck.

Hijack!

I'm too lazy to start my own comment thread, but if you're talking about the scriptwriter, then, um, he's a special brand of cray-cray in the Chinese entertainment circles. :P

Tell me mooooooooore.

I know about occasional plagiarism and don't care but this drama was clearly written by someone with some major issues, sexual and not, or at the very least, some interesting imagination. It's crazier than 10 1970s romance novels put together.

I say it's all the repression (same goes for Japan), but specifically in his case, this writer likes to write about messed up historical shenanigans with imperial concubines or at least female royals in with giant messy love geometry. (He also likes using FSF and that other dude, the actor for #4, even though technically the big productions would use other, bigger names. I don't know what the comparison would be like, maybe Park Shi-hoo instead of Kim Myung-min in something the scale of Legend? People have grumbled about this extensively, but Chinese netizens are not the nicest out there, so.) (And also I think Park Shi Hoo can act circles around #4.)

There are a lot of dramas you probably don't have subs for, but the main pattern is basically Gossip Girl-level intrigue, lots of bed-hopping with added (surprise!) Chinese history.

Among others, he's written let's-all-watch-Ady-An-take-a-psychological-running-swan-dive, Palace (JLH), and Mei Ren Xin Ji. (The others are even more convoluted and screwed up.) (I know!)

I didn't find Palace either particularly dysfunctional or romantically convoluted but FWC is insane. This one has no royal concubines so he probably added extra dysfunction to compensate :)

Is he the one making the Warring States drama with FSF and Yang Mi? I can't wait for it even more, if that is the case.

I noticed cdrama production houses in general like to reuse actors (see TangRen and Hu Ge) and I actually like it because it gives my favorite combos a chance to appear together multiple times as opposed to kdramas where it never happens.

I would totally take Park Shi Hoo over KMM any day, btw. I adore the former and never got the fuss about the latter.

Re: Four's actor. I can't say I am as obsessed about him as I am about FSF (who's given me the first raging actor crush I'd gotten since I discovered Hu Ge last summer (well, it's either FSF or Peter Ho - I think I have two contemporaneous crushes running) but for the roles he does - I.e. Second banana, I think he fits just fine.

Oh yes this part made me grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ! I mean even her so called best friends didn't even let her try to explain the situation I was EWWWWWWWW. By this moment I could care less about them.

Exactly. I mean, if a guy she met a month ago, at most, and who doesn't know her that well, trusts and listens to her more than her supposed best friend and childhood love do, then they are really not worthy of the label and she's better off without them.

Ady An is too cute. I love actress whose the look doesn't look boring (Sorry ruby lin and Tavia Yeung) even though they are not great beautes like : Kate Tsui, Fan Bing Bing, Zu Shun, Mao Inoue, Moon Geun Young, Seo Woo, Brigitte Lin in her prime, Maggie Cheung, Alicia Cha, Liu Tao etc...
Ady An is like that. She has her charm and she stand out with her innocent model girl image but she acts Zhao Min or this spoiled girl in chinese paladin really well ! I would like to see her in a drama with Yuan Hong !!!! Please please please pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Dangermousie, I hate to be bearer of bad news...

But our favorite couple HB & SHK just announced their break-up. I am just so lost...the moment he enlisted, we get this...

How are we going to deal? What about those pretty babies we were anticipating?!

Maybe they will still make babies through hate sex?

Honestly, this makes SHK look so bad...like she wasn't willing to wait for him.

I mean, remember HB in the episode of Taxi, when he admitted he had a girlfriend?! I was so relieved...

*sigh* I guess SG fans who shipped HJW & HB are happy!

*runs off & cries*

Well, they lasted a couple of years, which is more than I expect of celebs anyway.

Re: HB and HJW. I really doubt they'd be hooking up - she's older and also he's off for military service.
