Period dysfunction, how I love you!
Mar. 7th, 2011 12:12 amThis is my OTP for Chinese Paladin 3.

Indeed.
He's a warrior monk, she's an immortal earth goddess who loved him in his past lifetime. But now there are swords! I admit I am on his side of this. I mean, lady, it sucks he doesn't remember you but you guys were dating in the previous lifetime! It's not too surprising! Especially since the monks sealed his memories of past life just in case he does remember despite all probability. And you know this! So this guy is a monk in this life and has no idea who you are! It's not surprising he doesn't immediately stick his tongue down your throat! And you are so consumed by your issues, you are completely ignoring what he's telling you - namely that the demon you are protecting is harming his friends! You don't believe him or take it in, even. Chill, lady, it's not his fault he has no idea who you are, and in any event, I am spoiled so I can tell you you guys are going to get your star-crossed love soon enough.

And speaking of OTPs, I am glad to report that modern-day Hu Ge and LSS treat each other as devoted siblings but no more. In fact, LSS is even matchmaking Hu Ge and Yang Mi. So cute! But their past life - seriously, the death scene was almost as romantic as the OTP death scene in Three Kingdoms and that one involved the official, triple-sealed OTP there.

He had a demonic sword forged that can save the kingdom but it needs a blood of a royal female and he won't sacrifice his sister. Ohhhh.

Modern-day Hu Ge is getting pretty cool too:

Pretty!

Warrior monk plans to exorcise LSS but ultimately is moved by her devotion to her brother and decides to perform a ritual to make her fully join the world of the living. Awwwww. Fave part was when fierce Hu Ge ran to protect her, thinking Warrior Monk was going to off her. Mmmm.

Awww:

Pretty pretty pretty!

Date: 2011-03-07 02:21 pm (UTC)Seriously I don't understand why the writers made his character so annoying. Yang Mi's character was annoying too but at least it was annoyance level I could stand. His annoyance had me close to dropping the series a few times. And their constant bickering wasn't even funny, I just found it juvenile. At first, I though Hu Ge's character was supposed to be immature in the beginning but gradually matures and improves as the serious progress. But when I finished half the series and his character remained as annoying as ever, I stopped caring and simply fast forward all his scenes. I still love Hu Ge but I wish a better role for him. His character seems to be written by a primary school boy.
I loved the secondary OTP too. They are the reason why I finish watching the series. Btw, Xu Changqing is not exactly a warrior monk but a toaist priest. I love Wallace Huo in this series. He is soooo cute when he is trying to be serious and priestly but always succumb to Zixuan's seduction.

Yup, but warrior monk sounds sexier and less Thorn Birdish :P

mmmm, yes. They are my favorite part of the drama.

Date: 2011-03-11 05:55 pm (UTC)I watched CP3 first (helping JH finish up the subbing for it - that was when I first joined), and loved it so much. Then we decided to watch CP1, and... ugh. I hate it. I hate all the characters, the stupidity, the whining, the general inability to tell the other person THE TRUTH. Needless to say, we haven't finished it... My husband wants to finish it so he can see how it ends, so I'm guessing I'll have to suck it up, but ugh.
BTW, you're love of these series is adorable! :)

Date: 2011-03-07 03:09 pm (UTC)i'm only on ep6 at the moment, and must admit that while i've been on the hunt for angsty lurve wuxia tv dramas lately, this is just way too cute! although, my sis is telling me that if Chinese Paladin 1 was anything to go by, i should get a box of snot rags ready!

Date: 2011-03-08 01:53 pm (UTC)i am off to watch wallace huo's Love in a Forlorn City, even the title suggests angst levels that are through the roof!

Date: 2011-03-08 07:44 pm (UTC)I didn't think it was that bad. At least they are all still alive.
Re: Forlorn City. I tried it but it was too overwrought even for me and seeing that I am currently enjoying FWC, that's saying a lot. How about Romantic Red Rouge? It's Wallace, period drama, romance, happy ending?
