dangermousie: (Hu Ge by kycoo)

I mean, present day character is funny and likeable and looks like Hu Ge :P but he's fulfilling a role normally given to a comic sidekick. Wallace Huo's super-competent, super-honorable, extremely deadly warrior monk is a lot more the hero type. I can't wait for a ton of angst to drop on Hu Ge's character so we can finally see the hidden awesome within.

As [livejournal.com profile] mookiehyun once commented "He's hottest when he's miserable and angsting, he's cute when he's smiling but his face is created to angst and be miserable and thus makes us lose panties."

Indeed.

Crown Prince of Jiang? MMMMMMMMMMMMM. OMG. I want a whole drama about him, and while we are at it, please make Liu Shi Shi his wife instead of his sister, because seriously, that is NOT a sibling relationship - not when she tells him she cannot be parted from him and cross-dresses to join his army and compares them to their father and mother.

This scene, where he is doing things with banners with bells on them so his dying mother would believe these were victory bells got me close to tears.

And now he's with this flag in battle.

Here for the hotness.

With his sister. Seriously, no siblings act like that.

Or how about this??????!!!!!

Reunion after a year-long separation due to war. Tell me this doesn't play as swoonily romantic.

She's so beautiful:

But I think Wallace Huo's OTP in this is even more so:

I mean, I don't know, I am an only child, so maybe this is normal sibling behavior but I think not. I know they couldn't make LSS his OTP from the past life because that would really throw his present-day romance with Yang Mi out of whack, but I wish they figured out how to do so because it would make so much more sense.

ETA: Mmmmmmmm:

I only have a sister but I'm pretty sure real normal sibling behavior does not consist of that love-starved looked in both their eyes. I could be wrong though.

You think this is bad, there is a scene later on where he forges a demonic sword to save the kingdom and it turns out it needs the blood of a royal female virgin, so she offers, and even though the city is about to fall and everyone is about to die, he refuses and disowns her so she can't do it. Fine, good sibling. But there are all those stares and her asking him "who am I to you?" etc. Seriously, wherever the screenwriters were going with that, it wasn't sibling bonds.

Maybe they were pro-incest or something. I'm sure pretty soon that's going to be all the rage again. The new "cool" thing. It wasn't such a huge deal in the bible, you know?

LOLOL. Thankfully in present day they only treat each other as siblings.

Well...it was the way it was setup in the original game, while the present day Long-Kui wasn't as romantically attached to Jing-Tian in the game either. She was more of a clingly little sister, IMO. I didn't watch the entirety of the drama, so I don't really know of her portrayal here.

IMO, the only thing that Tang Ren (the production company) did right with Chinese Paladin III is the character of Chang-Qing, played by Wallace Huo, b/c he was the most annoying character in the history of the Chinese Paladin games (so sententious, stick-up, and selfish. oh, how I hate him then). But this character was totally winning in the drama. I also liked the friendship b/t Jing Tian and his childhood friend. Their relationship brought me to tears at one point (spoiler?).

I simply refuse to acknowledge Jerry Huang as the awesome Chong-Lou. In the drama, he resembles more to the bull-demons in the Journey to the West than the pwning king of the demon world.

yes, in present day they seem to be purely siblings (and I am much happier for it).

Have u start hording panties?! I'll need a whole drama worth come his CNJesus turn in Shangrila.

Incest...does happen, and I do sense those vibes as well. I guess when u idolworship your bigbro who looks like HuGe and u can have ur hands all over his face without him crying harassment, it's ...possible.

Plus it's in some world thousand years ago.. I bet ppl do not go ewwww on inbreeding as much (and yup Bible's not around yet). Middle Kingdom worship Confucius because he set down clear ground rules of who u can, u know f*** with and who u cant if u still call yourself human and wear scholarly clothes. The most WTF thing u'll ever see in Cdrama is when some general go lust over the King all slashily (3 Kingdoms, unintentionally). This is BIZARRE to us. Good that HG is NOT reciprocating and LSS's character can be excused for not being close to another dude as hot as HG then and she's just hit puberty.

My anticipation for Shangrila is unhealthy.

Luckily for me, someone on withs2 subbing team seems to be a big Hu Ge fan because they picked two of his upcoming modern dramas for subbing so hopefully they'll pick up Shangrila too. Because if there are no subs, I just might implode.

Too true :) Plus, they seemed to have grown up in a really insular, dysfunctional/war torn place, so they'd cling to each other for comfort. Clearly, reincarnation (for him)/1000yrs in a sword (for her) has cooled it down though - they now treat each other as merely affectionate siblings which makes me a lot more comfortable (though can you imagine having someone like Hu Ge as a brother? Talk about waste!)

Re: Three Kingdoms. I am barely 1/4 through and I have the gravest suspicions regarding Liu Bei's penchant for sharing his bed with a variety of sworn brothers :PP

I rem u were really taken aback by the incesty vibes way back when u started CP3 and I was very amused, I can sense the same vibe, but I gave it a couple winks and smirks and I didnt give it another thought, it's there to emphasize/exaggerate their 'extraordinary' DEEP sibling love. Her mind is not in our gutter and HG is safe! ;)

When I first read 3Kingdoms, I can't pinpoint why I don't like Liu Bei who's laid out to be THE good Hero. I was told he's all amazing, every good guy within 5 ft kiss his feet, but I don't really see it. NOW I know, I don't like him being a slut and 2, 3, 4 timing his bros in bed. lolz I warmed up to the actor playing Liu Bei, he is always throwing unintentionally winkwink 'I'm up to sthsth' slashy glances at the boys (ie everyone). It gives me joy! hahaha

Yeah, by now I am sort of more mellow about it for some reason.

Re: 3K. Ahahahahahhaa. Yes, I've been getting this vibes nonstop.
