Fight and Love with a Terracotta Warrior - where have you been all my life?

Having gotten my hands on some gorgeous quality raws (PM me if you want them), I proceeded to watch the first episode of Fight and Love with a Terracotta Warrior, starring Du Chen and Ady An as a pair of insanely star-crossed lovers - a Qin general and a woman picked by Qin emperor to help him gain immortality who dare to fall for each other. It ends as well as you may expect and the story moves to the 1930s, where the reincarnated Ady (who remembers nothing of her past life) runs into Du Chen again...The final part of the story takes place in modern day. Third time is the charm, one hopes.



There are no subs nor there are likely to be any but I was so desperate for this, I am watching raw. So far I have not found it hard to follow though seeing I am only half an ep in (time to go to bed over here), I have no idea if it will change.



I already like Du Chen and Ady's characters, whoever plays Qin Emperor is amazingly magnetic and scary (is it sick to crush on Qin Emperor? Oh well...) and the visuals are out of this world.

I really wished this was subbed, it looks so good... just wanted to say thanks mousie for recommending Return of the Condor Heroes, I'm pretty far into it and its getting pretty good, after this I really want to watch some drama where an evil guy is obsessively in love-
I'm thinking that I'll watch Legend of the Condor Heroes for the secondary OTP- I remember you talking about this and how the guy is evil but so in love, do you know of any other evil guys who fall in love in drama? Can be any kind of drama, mainland, korean, japanese...ect Sorry I'm always asking you all this questions, but you know so much, you are like the queen of Asian drama, lol

I can't think of any others except LOCH2008 - dramas don't seem to like to do that.

LOCH1983's has the best Yang Kang portrayed on screen so far IMHO. Michael Miu is really dashing in period costume and his character is like really really evil who did a lot of harm to the hero but at the time his love with Mu Nianci is quite touching as well. I actually cried when he died in the end in Mu Nianci's arm.

Jin Yong's novels (drama adaptations) have a few evil side characters who loved deeply as well. Sword Stained with Royal Blood has a great prologue where the evil (more like revenge-driven) guy falls in love with his enemy's daughter. Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils's Mu RongFu does care about Wang Yuyan, although he is selfish and loves himself most.

Gu Long has a few bad boys heroes who is deeply in love as well. Xiao Shiyilang's hero is in love with Shen Bijun who is married! Her husband (the main villain) is evil but he does loves his wife. Lot of angst in this novel. A pity there isn't a good drama adaption for this novel yet. Most adaption changes the original storyline too much.

I'd go with 2008 version myself. Not just because of mmmmmm Yuan Hong! But because production values came a lot in 20+ yrs.

2008 version makes book purists scream but I love it.

Actually the HK 80s adaptions of the Condor trilogy wasn't that faithful to the novels. I feel that the 90s adaptions of the trilogy are the most faithful so far. But the changes made to LOCH 1983 are done very well. Most importantly, it expanded on the character of Yang Kang, giving him more depth and complexity than what was in the novel. And Michael Miu was memorable in the role. Not only does he looks the part, he successfully portrayed Yang Kang's change from a spoiled and mischievous prince to a cunning and cold-blooded man. Another plus is that he enjoyed great chemistry with Sharon Yeung, who acted the role of Mu Nianci. There are tons of MVs on this couple, which says a lot considering that this secondary OTP is like 18 years old.

Another thing I love about the 80s adaptions are their OSTs which are really superb. They have some really good song writers back then. If you are into OSTs, I really recommend them.

Sorry for the long post. Wuxia dramas are a subject I am passionate about. :P

But anyway, it's not a grand secret, so I can post it here. Short and ironic answer - youtube.

1. Go to http://www.youtube.com/user/Jihongw#p/u/98/zmO3GKytXqg This user has all of Warrior in HD.
2. Pick an ep you want (click on his uploads button and 'load more' to see his uls). Make sure you get the version that has HD in front of it because he has non-hd uled too.
3. click on 'share' below the video and copy the url
4. go to www.keepvid.com and enter that url and click download
5. it will give you a number of options to pick from as to type of dl you wanr - pick High Definition (1280 x 720) MP4.
6. Voila. You got files as crisp as the stills I posted above. Each ep is about 800mb except for ep 4 where despite HD it didn't want to give me a HD dl :)

Ya, the HD version for this drama is really nice, too bad I watched it in DVD/LQ on youtube, cause I couldn't wait for the HD version lol the only bad thing about HD is that it's a cut version from the DVD version, so some scenes are missing... I finished this drama a while ago and finished it quite quickly hehe I really enjoyed the drama and was addicted to it, kept watching and watching, especially when new eps were out =]

I watched it because of Ady (after seeing her in Autumn's Concerto) and the plot line, sounded really interesting. plus i know gallen lo, and haven't watched him in a while. this drama was quite good, especially because of the amazing chemistry of the cast and their characters. love ady an and du chun together =D

i would recommend this drama and if you haven't started or finished, i hope you'll enjoy it as much as i did =] i liked the drama and characters so much that i even made MVs for them. it's not the greatest, but check them out on youtube =]
