I really really really (is there enough 'really's?) liked the first ep of A Step Into the Past. In fact, I found myself wishing Siaolong never had to travel back to Qin and I could actually watch an awesome drama set in modern-day HK in which he overcomes his committment issues and kicks baddies in the face.

Because I really really dig him with his modern-day OTP - here they are when they think they are abut to be blown-up:

He'd die for her/with her without any hesitation, but to commit to marriage (or make any plans for the future) forget about it! And she's fed up enough with their seven-year (!!!) dating relationship to want to marry another.

It would have been awesome if it was set in modern-day HK. Just saying (touristy fangirl note: I was theeeeeere on that walk. EEEE! Or something).

Oh well, on the plus side he looks even hotter in Qin garb:

And plus I am sure we'll get epic battles and epic angst.

Oh, and while I am wallowing in the shallow end of the pool, he's got the prettiest eyes I've seen on a man in - ever.

These pictures sure bring back a lot of memories. Louis Koo is definitely hot, too bad he doesn't make anymore drama(that could be a good thing for him considering TVB series are pretty crappy now). Did u know, the girl that play his fiance in the modern time is the same chick playing Consort Xipin in Palace?

Did he retire?

Yup, I recognized her and did a double take!

He'd have to be good-looking to get me to take a sip of *shudder* pepsi :)

Nice. Probably one of, if not thee, most favorite of my TVB dramas. Great storyline, witty dialogue, and GREAT casting. Does bring back memories to my die hard Louis crush days. Hot and funny is my favorite =)

If you think his Qin look is handsome, try to watch his older costume series BEFORE he got that famous tan. Apart from his Yang Guo in ROCH:

The Hit Man Chronicles 大刺客之煙花殺手
(Sorry, can't find clips!)

Trivia: The young tycoon in episode 1 is John Tang, his best friend in real life. Louis invited him to guest star in the series, and specially thanked him in his Best Actor acceptance speech.

If I can find the Blade of Honor thingy with subs, I am so on it :)

And maybe his version of ROCH (2006 version was the one which hooked me on cdramas).

Unfortunately, TVB only started to provide English subs for dvd in last 5-6 years, and is terribly slow in re-releasing older series. But I think ROCH should have English subs... It's even rarer chance to find English fansub TT-TT

I know. If I ever have kids... I'm am so sending them to Chinese lessons.

I'm English educated, but manage to pick up reading Chinese after getting addicted to manga in secondary school. Now it definitely helps in digging series spoilers in Baidu forum. Hehe...

I am Russian (now living in the US) so Baby Mousie will be sent to Russian classes when she's older because just my talking to her in Russian isn't enugh to make her fluent since my husband doesn't speak any Russian thus she doesn't hear it as much as she should. But I am contemplating taking Mandarin lessons myself - looking for classes now, actually.

Glad you liked it, this along with ROCH 95 are my favourite Louis Koo dramas, love him with Jessica Hsuan in here. If you want to watch him as a cop in modern HK, then you might want to try DIF IV, where he is also paired with Jessica.
