I kinda love So (the heroine) - she is yelling at the top of her lungs and insulting a guy who kidnapped her, has her in the back of his truck, and is clearly pissed-off and dangerous. She doesn't cower at all. Now, if only the hero of this drama was someone who rescued her from the psycho as opposed to the psycho himself.

She is so fucking awesome - totally fearless and lashing out. Unfortunately I WANT THE HERO TO DIE IN A FIRE AFTER BEING POKED WITH RUSTY NAILS. diediediediediescumoftheearth! The commander is starting to annoy me. I know he's just in luuuuurve and overprotective, but dude, she's able to handle everything the world throws at her, she's kickass and competent and smart, she saves herself. She doesn't need you galloping to her rescue every five seconds (often just complicating situations she had completely under control) and then scolding her because she put herself in danger. SHE'S A GODDAMN DAMO. IT'S KINDA HER JOB.

Well, Damo technically means a tea servant so she is way outside her 'proper' job description.

She tells him at some point that 'nobody has freed me the way you have, my Lord, and nobody has confined me the way you have, My Lord' so yeah - I can see that. (Though I think it also refers to the fact that under his protection she could both be so much more than her slave status but also that very access to finer things in life enabled her to see exactly what she would never be allowed to have).

I do think she has a death wish the size of Canada and so is fearless in a scary way. It's cool, but I can see why he worries.

I actually looked it up after the first ep (all the new terminology confused me), and according to wiki the real damos were used as female police inspectors too. :)

I understand worry, he's in love, but when he keeps messing everything up -- and then blaming her! -- it drives me crazy. Like when he interrupted the moment between her and brother because he thought bro was a threat, and she tried to tell him like THREE TIMES "no, he's not -- " but he literally shoved her aside to keep fighting. And then when she finally got through to him he was all "well why didn't you say anything sooner?" AUGHHHHHHHH.

And now she saved herself and fashioned her own escape from the counterfeit thugs but he just had to come barreling in and get on her case about... catching the criminals. What?? I laughed out loud when she quit and slapped her badge in his hand. TAKE THAT.
