Ok, finished ep 6.

I am still laughing from Eight's solution to QC's perceived tendency to have affairs - send 4 eunuchs to follow her at all time. Least inconspicuous spies ever.

Ok, Four's wife is officially annoying. Stop being so clingy and jealous and living in alternate reality. Believe it or not, he's not thinking about cheating, he's thinking about ascending to the throne and defeating rivals.

Shipping: Four/Qing Chuan. OK, OK, don't kill me. I like their chemistry and interactions and he's always awesome to her despite being an ambitious murdering manipulative guy in general. Eight's attempt to have QC's male friend offed because he dared hug her has me pissed off at him. There is a lot of grovelling and growing-up to do before he's worthy of QC. Though, hmmmm, Four is a manipulative murderer so not exactly an awesome choice either. I think she should just run far away.

okay got a bit of time to search and found the episode....screams sooooo good! can't wait for it to be subbed...though I am now very wary of the crown prince..seems weird and shady but since I've seen almost all the iterations of HYD I figured out what might have just happened...still super good though, 8th prince and QC have such awesome chemistry!

Last night's events are a bit hazy for me, screaming too much you see. But i believe that this was in ep 11. i think. around the 20-30 min mark.

Lol. I think you can add Eight's mom to Potential to Get There.

And I love that you included the emperor in the 'Scary Psycho' category. Four's Mom isn't a good guy so much as someone who sees more profit in being nice because it'll get her points.

Of course the Emperor is the scary psycho. If he wasn't, he wouldn't stay on the throne for long. That's why I think out of all the princes we met so far, Four is the most suited to inherit, even if he's scary as hell (or because he's scary as hell).

Watching ep 9 raw convinced me that QC should jump at Eight's offer of marriage/concubinage, stat! Not because of any mushy feelings but because she's stuck in a scary, execution-happy environment and the best way to survive (seeing she has no way to get back) is to find someone who's both (a) insane enough about her (and insane enough in general :P) to want to protect her from everyone and (b) is of high enough status to be able to actually do so, with some luck.

I mean, I don't care if he was an obese gargoyle with 5 other wives, I'd still be all over that offer. You can always trade up later when you are somewhere safer.

(And also it shows why she shouldn't put her eggs in the Four basket - there is no doubt he likes her as much as he's capable of liking anyone, but there is no way he'd let his feelings for her interfere with his path to emperordom. If she got offed, he'd feel bad but he wouldn't save her).
